This is another magical Iron maiden heavy metal masterpiece. The whole album is a classic and one of their best but it's impossible to pick a best iron maiden album. From the classic Aces High to the classic 13 minutes long Rime Of The Ancient Mariner it's all classic heavy metal. You may be reading the reviews seeing some people saying one song is bad on this album no their isn't this whole album is a masterpiece(as i mentioned already). If i had to pick some favourite songs it would be aces high, flash of the blade, powerslave & rime of the ancient mariner . This is the perfect start to Iron Maiden the albums Number Of The Beast, Piece Of Mind and this are the albums everyone should start off with with maiden. In fact why havnt you bought ... Read More:

After hearing Backstreet Symphony on the radio I decided to give this band a try, with a name like Thunder and the band being unknown to me at the time, I thought this song would probably be the only great song on the disc with a mix of good and average songs, like most albums, but thought I`d give them a shot - How wrong was I!
The CD was put in my CD player and didn't come out for a good week - no - it was a great week! Every song is simply amazing and the more you listen, the better it gets. The album is full of head bobbing, air punching, classic rock riffs that could turn a funeral into a party, mixed with a few epic ballad type tracks, the amazing Love Walked In and Until My Dying Day along with a dash of humour from Englishman On Holiday ... Ironic, just how good this band are at covers! This is far more than just a completist's release, it's essential for the Metallica fan!
Some very good covers, all really well played and on the whole, well produced, especially on Disc one which is the more recent covers as produced with Bob Rock. The production here leans far more towards the Black album, than St Anger, with a fat snare, and thumping bass, and sharp, clear guitars. Hetfield's vocals are excellent, with the man unafraid to dabble in a myriad of styles.
Also, Jason Newsted really shines here with some cool bass guitar!!
Highlights are Turn The Page, Loverman, Sabbra Cadabra, Astronomy, Helpless, Crash Course In Brain Surgery (LOVE the bass work here!), Am I Evil, The More I See, The ... Read More:

One of the hallmarks of a great album, particularly in the 60s and 70s, was that every song on it would make a killer single. This is less applicable now that an artist can make a single album longer than a double would've been twenty years ago, but albums like Michael Jackson's Thriller or Revolver by The Beatles sounded like Greatest Hits records. In a modern era where too often bands will make albums with a bunch of great singles and then a load of filler (Kasabian, Kaiser Chiefs, we are looking at you), Hard-Fi have revived this art.
Straight out of Staines, Hard-Fi have their poppy edge tempered by Richard Archer's street-level lyricism and a grimey, working-class grey underlying all their songs. As such, no matter how catchy a song like 'Tied Up Too Tight' ... Read More:

"There's a future for you in the fire escape trade", sings Peter Gabriel in the most well-known track off this album, `I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe)'. It's the second track, and is preceded by `Dancing with the Moonlight Knight'. This opening track epitomises the album as a whole: inventive ideas, fine musicianship, but does Gabriel have to shout?
Genesis at this time (1973) were renowned for their extended instrumentals, and there are plenty on this album, especially in the nine-and-a-half minute `Firth of Fifth'; the eleven-minute `Cinema Show' (is that a mellotron I hear?); and the twelve-minute `Battle of Epping Forest'. This final piece is an item of theatrical whimsy: "Here come the cavalry". There is one track, the aptly-titled `After the Ordeal' - it follows ... Read More:

I don`t believe Joe has peaked yet - he is still developing as an artist but boy when he gets it right he is monstrously good. He reminds me of Clapton and Gary Moore the most but echoes of Frampton and Stevie Ray creep in here and there. BB King is an obvious influence.
Anyway he writes sings and plays with conviction and soul - his guitar is not overblown and fits the songs nicely and usually leave you wanting more, again a little like old Slowhand himself. High Water everywhere showcases a fabulous vocal, Asking around for you is a wonderful blues ballad, and I agree with others that Led Zeppelin`s Tea for one is a brave and unusual cover that is really well done.
HE HAS THE CHOPS and knows and loves a wide variety of classic rock and blues - I saw him live recently and in one ... Read More:

I didnt know dragonforce were popular on amazon everyone hates dragonforce where i live it's annoying. I love dragonforce i have all 3 off their albums. This is different to Valley Of The Damned both brilliant every song is brilliant (well i'm not too keen on Dawn Over a New world still ok) the rest are fast heavy with amazing solos. The album Opener would probably be the best and Soldier Of The Wasteland my god that is feaking amazing 9 minutes it's a masterpiece. If you're only getting into Dragonforce this is a great start. Dragonforce are a wicked band. Must be heard by everyone.

Forget heavy metal and led zepplin - Jeff has more balls in his little finger than all all the 'great' guitar players except than perhaps Jimi himself. Pure testosterone. The perfect driving music - no speed limit.
Jeff can change from thumping rock distortion to beautiful haunting bends and swoops - in pitch perfect highs and lows. Not to go through the tracks one by one - but this is Jeff hitting a high he has hinted at all his career. Never one to copy old riffs and cliches - he has been a unique talent ever since he picked up a 6 string. It's a change to see an artist not go down the commercial route just for the money.. No Frog Songs or Wonderful Tonights - just great guitar.

'My favourite albums ever' contains around 200 albums so don't be suprised that this is up there. Well lets get down to it, it's a stunning album unlike their 3rd there's no filler and just great music. Classics from start to finish and definately the 'phonics album to listen too, if you want to get the feel of them. Trouble is that hardcore phonics fans seem to think they were going off their origional sound with this album. yes they definately are but its a better sound in my opinion In my opinion their other albums aren't so much a deal as this. Buy it now. Then buy 'Just enough education to perform' and then buy Language.sex.violence.other.

Bought this album on a whim, after bumping into it on here and seeing all the positive reviews. Very glad I did. It's surprisingly melodic and great to drive to. The only low point (for me) is Amerika which, because it's partly sung in heavily accented English, sounds a bit Eurovision. That apart it's fascinating stuff that bears repeated listening. If you've never bought music like this before don't be put off. I've immediately ordered most of their back catalogue.
