First I must congratulate myself on a thoughtful and rather clever title. Not mine I hasten to add! Like a lot of Bob Dylan lines you'll find one to fit practically any given situation. Try it out. It's quite bizarre. That's the greatness of 'His Bobness' though. Already I digress. Back to the rekkerd - as our American friends say. This is truly awful. Why anyone thinks this is good stuff is beyond me. And I'm 6ft 2ins!! They all sound like bad impersonations of bad impersonations of Bob. And believe me, they are!! Listen people - I'm a Bob afficianado, and when I hear these dire warblings (Going to Acapulco an exception for some reason I can't explain) I feel very very depressed. Like a lot of people I laughed the first time I ... Read More:

Bought this album post seeing the film Frida - another must. The soundtrack is as mesmerising as Frida herself. One can leave this album on replay and never tire of it. I wholly and heartedly recommend it.

Took this along to my boxing club and the guys just wouldn't stop. Normally they are heading for the changing room ten minutes before the end!! A must for anyone needing a bit of motivation. EYE OF THE TIGER BABY!

A great album with the music from the film. Holmes has written the music with the style that would not be out of place in Las Vegas. His attention to jazzy beats that almost reflect the original film. A great buy.
Release Date December 23, 1999
I have to say that my preference would be for the "Original London Cast" recording which is sadly no longer available to the Film Soundtrack version. Although the 'London Cast' album is only a single album and therefore only contains half the songs, the instrumentation seems crisper and tighter and generally speaking, the vocal performances are better. The lovely Dana Gillespie as Mary Magdalene is unbeatable and even Paul Nicholas (yes, he also featured in the original stage recording) puts in a fairly good performance too, though admittedly probably tries a bit too hard to put on a theatrical voice. If you know anybody who has a copy of the original 1972 album (and providing they still have a turntable), listen to "Trial Before Pilate" and compare it ... Read More:

I found this tape collection just by accident and I am glad that I did. This is just the best - witty and funny and fast paced, I can't wait to add more volumes to my collection.

I absolutely adore this album. The songs perfectly reflect the emotional angst and deep yearning love which are the central themes to Dawson's Creek. When you listen to the songs you can just imagine scenes from the show playing in your head, or imagine the songs as the soundtrack to your own love scene. If only someone would write a song like "Stay you" for me.
When I bought this it eventually did the rounds at university and I would pass everyone's window with the familar sounds blaring out. I eventually got the CD back, it was so scratched and well used I had to go and buy another one! But it was well worth it and now when I lisetn to it it reminds me of lazy lustful days at university...

Another reviewer of this product complained that the interview section with Charles Richardson isn't very funny - a reaction I simply can't understand, as these twelve interviews are simply the funniest exchanges I have ever heard. Gerard Hoffnung was just 35 when he died, but he sounds like a portly (and utterly mad) sixty-year-old, and his timing and instinct for the absurd are just exquisite.
A special mention to Charles Richardson, a totally straight American reporter, assigned to extract a meaningful interviews from this eminent musician and cartoonist but finding each attempt he makes to start a conversation quickly unravelling and thus being driven ever so gently to utter exasperation. Richardson surely *must* have been in on the joke, but ... Read More:

This is a great album, containing some mesmerising tracks from the likes of Leftfield, Faithless and UNKLE. Some other reviews mention that the Blur track spoils the album, although not to the standard of the likes of UNKLE, Blur are not a bad choice at all! The highlight of the album has got to be both Woozy (Faithless) and Beached (Orbital & Badalamenti) but all the tracks have a chilled tropical feel to them representing the hidden meanings in the film well (check 'Richard, its business as usual' for the darker moments). All in all a great album that deserves a listen!!...
