I am 17 year old and i'm a massive fan of heavy metal, I love most types of music from Heavy Metal to Blues to abit of Indie to Instrumental rock and all types of rock from 60s 70s and 80s. 2 of my friends who have similar taste in music as me really like Eric Clapton so I checked his greatest hits and that was brilliant. Then I decided to start my Cream selection and bought this and i love it.
This awesome rock/blues album was made famous by the song Sunshine Of Your Love, which is a brilliant song but there is more to this album then that song. The best song for me here is World Of Pain it's amazing and the vocals on this album are brilliant. In conclusion, this album is brilliant and should any music lovers collection whatever ... 10CC were huge in the mid to late 70's. Much like contemporaries ELO they were often overlooked by the more hybrow critics and dismissed as merely Beatles wannabe's. Whilst the Beatle comparisons cannot be denied messers, Godley, Creme, Gouldman and Stewart were an entirely more exciting prospect than Jeff Lynne's mob.
Lyrically erudite, musically inventive and all four band members possesed of great voices, 10cc peddled harmony drenched, hugely inventive powerpop and retro rock. At their best they were sublime - 'I'm Mandy, Fly Me', 'Life Is A Minestroni' and 'Rubber Bullets'. 'I'm Not In Love' may have been dulled by massive over exposure but it's still a great ballad and more than deserved it's number 1 position on both sides of the Atlantic.

The woman in our local corner shop often has her Rod Stewart T-shirts on.
"Have you got the Jeff Beck albums yet?" I ask.
She smiles benignly as if to say; "Idiot! What would my Roddy be doing on a Jeff Beck album, I do wish he'd stop asking me that!"
Jeff Beck's first album after leaving The Yardbirds, and after enjoying (?) 2 or 3 chart singles on which HE took the lead vocals this album was an absolute blessing to hear; this was what we expected from a band fronted by him! And yes, regardless of my disbelieveing corner shop lady, her Roddy sings on all the original album tracks, and makes an especially fine job on every one of them, and would surprise quite a few of those disbeliever's in the process with 'Ol Man River' for starters.
And as if the first ... Read More:

Is Great Expectations listening to the same CD as everyone else that has rightly given this CD 5 stars - he is correct in that you had to be there - and I was on many occasions and then later the inferior White Snake & Rainbow -as stated by many this is arguably the best live recording ever made - no contest as far as I'm concerned.- the interplay between Lord & Blackmore - and the pulsating rhythm section is incredible! Others can only aspire!

In March of this year Lou Reed inducted Leonard Cohen in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the words, "We're so lucky to be alive at the same time Leonard Cohen is". This greatest hits collection, with its memorable front-cover photograph, shows why Reed was so unusually magnanimous and effusive. Cohen's self-deprecating words on `Chelsea Hotel' and impassioned vocal performance on `Take This Longing' are just two of twelve examples included here which illustrate why Cohen is talked of in the same breath as legends of popular music like Hank Williams, Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan (The only drawback of this particular collection is that it was first released in 1975 and therefore does not include later work, of comparable quality to that featured here, like 1984's `Hallelujah' nor 1988's `Tower Of Song'). ... I had the vinyl version of this album. It is by far the best Rolling Stones collection on the market. This CD release is no disappointment. The sound quality is superb. I can add little to other reviews, with one exception. This was the only place that I knew the stereo version of "Paint it Black" to be. I can confirm that this reissue still has the "Paint it Black" track in stereo, which was a major reason for me buying this collection for another time.
I agree with a previous reviewer who says that this is a much better collection than "Hot Rocks." This is a much better collection and better sound quality.

Shortly after his first album Young released a rather patchy album that's real claim to fame was the first appearance of Crazy Horse. The voice is more assured than on the opener but that takes away some of the quirkiness that made the opener sound fresher than a rather stodgy offering in which Young seems to be desperately trying to make a niche for himself.
