Apart from "Frontin'", Pharrell's solo output has been confusingly bad, and he has far more success with his funk/rock group N*E*R*D. The band's latest offering 'Seeing Sounds' successfully combines the mellow chords of 'In Search Of' and the prominent guitar of 'Fly Or Die' in a musically diverse album. Drum n Bass influences "Everybody Nose", "Anti Matter" and "Spaz", but the latter two tracks sound somewhat cluttered with ideas. The funk and flow of "Yeah You" is better, while the Beatle-esque "Sooner or Later" is a brilliant number before it breaks into a 2 minute guitar solo. Although Pharrell cites Steely Dan as one of his main influences, this guitar solo cannot match that of Walter Becker.
Tracks such as "You Know What" and "Laser ... Read More:

Or the "Red Album" if you're losing track as this is the third self-titled Weezer album out of six. It's also the first since the debut (the Blue Album for those keeping track) to see Rivers Cuomo slightly loosen his autocratic leading of the band to let his bandmates show us their own songwriting chops.
Things didn't seem all that promising at first; not only were there rumours that this album was to see a highly experimental Weezer but record label Geffen were apparently of the opinion that the album didn't have any hits on it. The result was Pork and Beans, the album's lead single and one written entirely as a sly knock to the label's opinions. "Timbaland knows the way to reach the top of the charts" sneers Cuomo, "maybe if I work with him ... Read More:

Just to get more precise about figures:
BIA was certified 9 times platinum in the US alone (without counting Canada or latin America), which means it sold 9 million there.
It sold over 14 million in Europe. (with 4 million in the UK alone - certified in 2000, 2 million+ in France, certified in 1994!)
These figures don't include those of Australia, Japan, the African continent, Russia, the East Countries, Arab countires, Israel...
Remark that these figures approximately date back to 1999-2000. No update has been made since then. They may well have evolved as a consequence.
At the time of release BIA sold incredibly well, to reach a phenomenal 12 million within the 1st 11 months on the market.
The album is reported to have ... Read More:

They made 3 albums, 'I Just Can't Stop It', 'Wha'ppen' and 'Special Beat Service' and if you're an 'The (English) Beat' fan (like i am for years) this compilation does'nt ad anything to what you already own. I'm 56 and still bouncin' 'round!! (Ranking Fullstop)

it is over 11 years since i bought this album. i listened to it a few times with no real hallelujah moments. then it clicked. i listened to the album as a whole, i listened to the album with the lyrics sheet open. and then it became the soundtrack for my summer. the memories associated with this album were brilliant but then so was the music. every track is unique, the lyrics are awesome, yorke's voice has at least 5 styles, the guitar play, cut up drums, soundscape are magical. i listened to the album again yesterday and it prompted this review. you must respect radiohead for not re writing the bends but creating something bigger and better. brilliant, absolutely brilliant

Its hard to believe that this album comes from the same artist who performed on "Small Change"; this is more like it. In contradistinction to the desperately awful vocals on that album, Waits is here a mellow-voiced, yet bluesy edged vocalist entirely in tune with some fine piano work and the rest of the musicians, elements largely lost on the earlier album. The songs are finely crafted, elegantly phrased and perhaps ultimately timeless. Comparisons with later Joni Mitchell are not out of place here - think "Hejira" - and in places even Dylan and the Eagles more world weary stuff, but then they all draw from the same well, so perhaps it's not so surprising. Thoroughly recommended to almost anyone with a taste for the eclectic. So I look forward to more like it.

I will admit I was originally determined to hate Girls Aloud because I am against reality TV shows but song after song I found myself unable to stop listening. Now I am a huge fan and bought the Greatest Hits as I had not previously bought a Girls Aloud album. Every track makes me want to dance and sing into my hairdryer. My personal favourite are Long Hot Summer, Wake Me Up, Something Kinda Ooh and the unreleased track Money with it's hilarious lyrics. The girls lyrics are undeniably witty and sharp and nothing if not bold on all of their singles.
I play this CD whenever I am getting ready for a night out, Something Kinda Ooh is always the final track I play as it is my favourite party mood song. I have also found myself beginning to like some of the songs ... Read More:
