The truth is, all of The Door's albums are worth owning and because each album was so different in style, it is important to purchase each one seperately to understand the true artistic diversity of the band. However in terms of packaging and tracklisting, this is the best compilation ever. The 40th anniversary remixes have noticible clarity over the previous CD releases, although it is disc 2 that sees some of the most noticable improvements. Love her madly and hello I love you are subtly different as are riders on on the storm and others although it is these former two that are superior through enchancement.
The running order on the first disc is little different from the previous best of, but disc 2 is nicely balanced with all ... Read More:

I don't need to tell any of you how great an artist Phil Collins is. A true 80s legend and an awesome live performer. He's produced many great songs and this collection features a lot of his best work. Many fans will probably argue that some of their favourites are not on here, but this album does boast his most liked and most popular tracks. Brilliant from start to finish, a good combination of uplifting 80s music and powerful ballads.

As ever, Steely Dan's 'Pretzel Logic' is a monument to tasteful musicianship and superb production. Its strength is its diversity, a journey through the lives of characters that may exist beneath the skyline on the cover. 'Night By Night' is funky, 'Parker's Band' swinging, 'East St Louis' old jazz, the title track blues, all sounds of the city. 'Any Major Dude' offers rare optimism and 'Rikki Don't Lose That Number' a warning. These are highlights. Perhaps, for once, some of the material isn't up to their usual highest standards, notably 'Barrytown' and 'Through With Buzz,' but 'Pretzel Logic' is still worth hearing.

This album blew my mind when I first heard it 15 years or so ago. From the first to the last this album reaches the pinnacles that other artists just cannot. To think that it is over 30 years old to me it sounds fresher and more vital than most of the bland R&B that is being offered up today. Also it's political message still blows me away.
This album is so good that everyone should own it. Infact if you know someone who doesn't get them a copy. It would count as a genuine act of kindness on your part.

[One CD, with a running time of 78:22] This collection of Moody Blues hits would better be called, "The Moody Blues Through The Years." The songs run from their early Go Now (1964), through I Know You're Out There Somewhere (1988). Along the way, we get the touching Isn't Life Strange, the haunting Forever Autumn, the radiant The Voice, and many other great songs.
My one and only complaint is that Nights In White Satin is included without Graeme Edge's spellbinding poem Late Lament. I have always found that poem to be a fantastic epilogue to the song. But that's such a minor complaint. This is a great CD, and well worth the money.
By the way, the sleeve includes a one or two-sentence story of each song, and a conversation between John Reed ... Read More:

It seems like The Subways are trying to appeal to a wider audience with this album as it has a slightly softer, more commercial sound. It gets off to a brilliant start with "Girls and Boys" which has to be one of their best tracks but after that I find myself yearning for the more raucus sound of the first album. Good but not great.

Just thought I'd do my bit to reduce the ludicrously high star rating of Mr. Rice's dreary and vacuous disc. Lisa Hannigan does well to provide a good contrast to his dreadful vocals, but 'Cold Water' is the only song here of any merit; the rest is over-hyped tosh of the worst kind. May he sink into deserved obscurity as soon as possible.

I watched Dirty Dancing about 2 weeks ago and fell in love with it. I loved the music most of all so bought this soundtrack. But then I noticed Ultimate Dirty Dancing, which is cheaper on Amazon and has all of the songs in Dirty Dancing! This one has about 12. Rubbish.
