When people think of Cypress Hill i guess they would (YAWN) think of "insane in the brain". But people out there who obviously know their stuff would be more likely to recommend this album which doesn't have THAT single on it. Point being, this album is their best.. best beats, best sound, best lyrics, its all there and you won't be disappointed

This is definitely Nas's best album (so far). Yeah everyones like Illmatic blah blah blah...but this is so timeless. I would rate every track at four or five stars. I loved the music, the featured artists like Chrisette Michelle, Will.I.Am etc, and of course Nas's legendary lyrics. Buy it !!!!

but then that isn't really saying a lot is it? 50 run out of things to say after 'Get Rich or Die Tryin' so now we have to hear about how he blows his undeserved wealth. Those lamenting the death of hip-hop should dig a little deeper, it's still alive and kicking, just dont expect it from the g-unit camp.

This album proved to me that Nas was, is, and always will be a cut above most other artists (in the entire music scene).
At the time in their careers where most rappers are either contemplating retirement to enjoy their lives with the proceeds of mediocre lyricism, or pushing half-hearted efforts out to bump up their bank balances and add another plaque to the wall, Nas gives us this classic. From the long list of quality albums he's made, this one stands up near the top, only being bettered by Illmatic. The lyricism is once again flawless, educational and not material-obsessed and misogynistic like other hip-hop artists. Heaven, Made You Look, Get Down: brilliant tracks, and the beats are fantastic as well, which is something Nas albums ... Read More:

These days, rap seems to be about nothing but driving expensive cars, drinking cognac, wearing hugely unnattractive jewellery, glueing bits of metal to your teeth and demeaning women in just about every way possible. Thank goodness for "If You Can't Join Em... Beat Em", then - it's a hip hop album that puts fun at the forefront of its sound. Format's ear for a rhythm will get all but the most arthritic of heads nodding, while the lyrical dexterity of longtime partner Abdominal puts mainstream rappers to shame; elsewhere, the excellent guest spots from D-sisive, and another from Jurrasic 5 mainstays Chali 2Na and Akil, really shine. Funky, funny and refreshingly old-school. If DJ Format wants to beat modern mainstream rap, then I'm more than happy to be on ... Read More:

With a very good mixture of people on the CD and differnt songs this is really good. Popular artists such as Eminem, Jay-Z, Dr. Dre , snoop dogg and even Daniel Beddingfield appearing on this make ita very good and well worth the money.
