This is an astonishing album and if it doesn't hit you on the first listen, give it one more chance... it is lushious. The reaction I have had from those who have listened to it is consistent.. it is a delicate, evokative, sexy album. Munka Moon pays hommage to its forbearers but pushes forward in a wonderful amalgamation of past and present which makes Alice rusell, perhaps, the most impressive and underated female vocalist in recent times. It can not fail to impress. Just listen.....

It was the beginning of a new decade and, as Dickens wrote "it was best of times, it was the worst of times," CSN&Y has made it clear there would no more "Deja Vu"s and it was impossible not to be sad as having such stunning encounter of four songwriting talents stop their four-way magic at one single album. And then there were four solo beauties -except for Young's "After the Gold Rush," first albums for Crosby, Nash and Stills- that returned a smile to many of our grieving faces.
Although if compared to his feuding amigos I would not rate Stephen Still first solo recording the best of all four, there's nothing here that could not be considered absolutely impeccable. Furthermore, as musical breadth goes, this album show unequivocally ... Read More:

Undoubtedly some of the best disco tunes of the 70's and 80's. Great vocals, great melodic rhythm and awesome lyrics. A must buy for fans of Earth, Wind and Fire and Wham!!!!
Release Date November 14, 2005
This album proves that there are some people that can sing more easily than many find talking. I had enjoyed some of the catchy Blue songs (much to my embarrasment a lot of the time!) but wouldn't say I was a fan by any stretch of the imagination. I didn't know when they went their own ways and certainly wouldn't have been able to guess which one Simon was but once I heard 'Lay Your Hands' I was a fan. He sings with amazing ease and as a singer myself can tell you that his vocal range and melodic noise of his voice is unbelievable. If I had to compare him to any other artist I would say few of his songs sound a bit like the Lighthouse Family, although I believe Simon is a better singer.
In this album Simon has removed some of the negative emotions that ... Read More:

Often, when listening to Marvin, I get a lump in my throat. This is knowing how he spent his last few years, and how his life was eventually ended. However, it's also the fragility of his voice. By this I don't mean his voice wasn't strong or good. However some songs, including many on this album, display a vulnerability. Dusty was the same - some of her ballads displayed the same fragility and vulnerability. Sadly, Johnny Cash's last recordings were the same, but for different reasons. All were and are (on record, anyway) great artists, and deserve all their accolades.

The journalist Craig Seymour (in his bio on Luther) didn't rate this album, so I bought it with some trepidation.
Well, I don't think Craig coud have been more wrong. Some of Luther's vocals on these tracks are amongst his BEST ever performances. As ever, he sounds incredible, but with a Gospel intensity on the ballads; at times he's truly singing the chandelier right off the ceiling !!
It must have been electrifying in the studio. And his jazz-funk take on My Favourite Things is worth the price of admission alone... All the usual crew are there (Cissy, Cindy, Brenda, Lisa, Kevin, Marcus, Nat et al).
It's an excellent Christmas album that's loaded with soul plus some funny moments; listen out for the comic exchange between Luther ... Read More:
