This tune is without doubt the best on Experience the 1992 debut album from the prodigy. With it's combination of Reggae and Techno it epitomises the Rave scene of the time. From the outset with it's high string chords and breakbeat build up you sense the fact it's a good tune. It then drops into reggae and the rave theme kicks in halfway through. From then it's instant hands in the air stuff.

From start to finish this album expresses a slick coolness with stylish beats and a cool fresh sound. Holmes seems to have drawn more from his experience on film scores than his previous album 'Lets Get Killed'. As the previous album is one of my all time favourites, I was dissapointed with 'Bow Down to the Exit Sign' on first play. I missed the sense of gritty darkness and raw dispair that made 'Lets Get Killed' so distinctive. However I soon grew to its more modern beats and rhythms. It was clear Holmes was trying to do something different with this album as opposed to doing 'Lets Get Killed 2' and not joining a growing trend of musicians who release albums which sound just like there last one because it sold well (like Travis).

This really is an excellent compilation CD by Fatboy Slim. The 19 tracks that he has included on the CD are all stunning, and are some of the best music I have ever heard. I would have given this CD 5 stars, only I thought there should have been more of Fatboy Slim's own tracks added to the compilation. However this is the only flaw I have found with the CD and I would certainly recommend it to any Big Beat fan.

Great stuff. Anyone who bought Holmes excellent compilation 'Come Get It I Got It' already has a fairly good idea of what to expect, as several of the tunes were partially used there: large slabs of cyberfunk laced with soul, funk and jazz influences. It's obvious that he's chosen his collaborators well - Revron is a great MC with a boggly eyed 'rubber wallpaper and back-to front jacket' style (Don't Rhyme No Mo, Free Ass OC8)and Petra has a delicious loungecore voice that drips from your speakers ('Wooden Heart', '...Broom'). The backing music is superb - previous Holmes efforts established a groove and ploughed it (albeit brilliantly - Gritty Shaker, 69 Police) for 6 minutes, but here the music has evolved further and is more richly layered and ... When Bentley Rhythm Ace unleashed their first CD, "Bentley Rhythm Ace" on the unsuspecting public in 1997, little could have prepared us for the new territory being charted. Their witty blend of sampled funk loops, quirky sound bites and tub-thumping melodies was quite ahead of the pack at the time. Since then there have been a number of acts who have pushed the boundaries of what can be achieved with a trusty Akai A3000 and a mixer. Most of the artists on the Ninja Record label roster spring to mind as well as artists such as The Full Moon Scientists.
BRA's second release is treading much of the same ground although in addition to the speaker-shattering funk loops, they have added touches of latin, jazz and rock. Played ... Read More:

The young electronica fans of today will never understand the effect that this album had on release. In 1994 this was new in a way that nothing else had been new. To listen to it for the first time was akin to having your ears opened - new sounds, new beats, new rhythms. I defy anyone to find anything on this album that sounds derivative.
14 years on, I still LOVE listening to this album (on vinyl, of course!) from start to finish. It still sounds groundbreaking.
In my opinion, it's the finest dance music album that will ever be made.

Busy child is the quintessential example of the "hold on a minute.... I know this track!" situation. You will have heard it on GAP clothing adverts and also on the soundtrack to the film "The Fast and the Furious". Crystal Method are the unsung heros of the big-beat dance scene in recent years and their album "Vegas" (from which this single originates) is an essential purchase. The track features some really great samples and a fantastic bass line. A truly great track worthy of anyones record collection.... and I don't usually like dance music!

Ive always loved the Prodigy right from their first track "Charly" back in 1991
This imported version has mixes that i had not heard before. As a prelude to their new Album which is released mid August 2004 i wanted to catch up with some of the mixes.
Unfortunately most of the imported remixes are now unavalible so grab this one if your a Prodigy fan while you still can.

Yeah, so I'm a prodigy fan, you wouldn't be buying this if you weren't. But my soft spot lies in the random remixes, which this single provides a fine pair of exmples. So tasty I damn-near ate the speakers. Really, buy this, it's not going to break the bank...

Timo has more success with the tracks on this album that deviate from his usual pumping techno fare.
The downtempo breakbeat tracks 'Help Me', 'Caravan' and 'Hash Driven' are all good examples of Timo's ability to create something other than a 4/4 prog tune. When he does throw in the odd hard houser they're not particularly good, 'Old School Vibes' for example is instantly forgettable and will be one you skip over every listen.
All in all though, a good Debut LP from a traditionally "loud" techno DJ/Producer, his album however is dinstinctly different. Not bad.
