Okay, so the lyrics aren't so sophisticated. So what? The music is still pretty damn good. I got into the album instantly, as i found the music to be very accesible, easy listening; instantly likeable. I have been a Melua fan from the start and I am pleased to see her going in a different route, her music now being alot more entertaining and uplifting. Some of the lyrics may be called childish, i personally find them charming. For example, 'if the lights go out' has beautiful lyrics of love until the end of time, whereas i don't understand why some people are taking such issue with the lyrics of 'if you were a sailboat' among others. The Best of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac

I have loved all these tracks from when they were first released and I was a schoolboy,I managed to see them live twice around that time, at the Ulster Hall in Belfast, I generally don't listen to that much older music and tend to move on,usually staying quite contempory, but just about everything on this CD sounds just as great as it always did!

For me, Bob Dylan's status is built on the period from 1962's 'Freewheelin'' to 1968's 'John Wesley Harding'. Everything else he did is second class at best, including the overhyped 'Blood On The Tracks'. That early period covers the full range of his rapid development and by the time of this album he'd left the more direct folk-protest genre behind. Perhaps, though, my expectations of 'Blonde On Blonde' were too high. There's no doubt that Dylan was on a lyrically-creative high, but he chose to be a musician rather than a poet and that's where his inconsistencies lie. Although only his first release Buddy Whittington has been around the Blues circuit for years. This is a fantastic album that clearly shows why Buddy was an effective replacement for Coco Montoya in John Mayalls Bluesbreakers.

This is so mellow and dreamy. A perfect accompaniment to a 'deep' mood. Only don't listen to it whilst driving or operating heavy machinery as you'll probably find yourself falling asleep! Oh, and she has the most adorable chin cleft, not that it's evident just from listening to her singing, though. I think listening to this has cheered me up. It might work for you too!

I got this album about six months ago, liked it immediately and like it even more now. I love every song, although this is not the full version - which I got and think is much better cos it has some extra tracks. I think this is easily one of the best albums i have ever heard, ever! I recommend this to anyone who loves good music!

Damn Right I've Got The Blues

Buddy Guy celebrates his new recording contract with Silvertone by setting out his stall from the very first track - the title which features some exceptionally fiery guitar playing and there's some lovely fluid guitar playing all over this album. As well as this facet Buddy Guy shows his softer - more "bluesier" side on "Five Long Years" and "Black Night" - the two longest tracks on the album. The album features a stellar cast of guitar greats - Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Mark Knopfler but Buddy Guy's guitar burns the brightest of them all. There's an odd cover here of "Mustang Sally" which is taken a tad slower than normal but works well. The last track - "Remembering Stevie" is in homage to the late great Stevie Ray Vaughan and is a beautiful poignant instrumental.
