She should listen to Ella Fitzgerald records of Hymns that are respectfully, and tastefully done. Songs like these Christmas ones on the cd require a respectful rendition, not extensive "stylizing"

Pinecastle is a small independent label that has been the source of some great bluegrass and this Christmas collection showcases some of the artists signed to the label in the mid-nineties.

Foxfire get the collection off to a fine start with their adaptation of Twelve days of Christmas. The lyrics are made relevant to bluegrass – five banjo strings replacing five golden rings, for example. Next comes David Crow with a cover of Santa looked a lot like Daddy, a Buck Owens classic that also appeared on Alan Jackson's first Christmas album.
