This is a top ska collection, it contains plenty of classics including a few from the godfathers of SKA music, The Specials. Defenite stand out tracks are Rat Race, Rudy, a message to you and Ghosttown.
Its cheap and you get over 50 tracks to chose from, there has to be some you like in that lot!

This is a fantastic complete collection of the fantastic 80's syntheseiser duo Yazoo (Alison Moyet and Vince Clarke). It contains both of their albums, Upstairs At Eric's (No. 2 in 1982) and You And Me Both (No. 1 in 1983) and a third CD of A-B Sides and 12" Remixes and a DVD of both the albums in 5.1 Mix, Promotional Videos, A Short Film and Yazoo At The BBC.

It contains the classic "Only You" which made No. 2 in the charts in April 1982 and my favourite track of theirs "The Other Side Of Love" which made No. 13 in November 1982. The 7" and 12" mixes are on CD3 of this collection as it did not appear on either albums.

If you are a fan of the 80's then this is a must buy for your collection, you won't be disappointed. ... Read More:

This album has has never been far away from my CD player since it was released around 23 years ago. The music surprised a lot of people at the time because it wasn't completely representative of the Abba style. In the theatre the music is completely overwhelming. I managed to see the production 3 times, twice with the original cast and that is why I would recommend this recording above all others. Some of the players are different but the American, Russian & Florence were as heard on the CD's. The Swedish touring version mentioned further down is excellent, in that it includes the ending as we knew it & other bits and pieces. Still vocally this is the superior version and no one has sung Florence better than Elaine Paige. A pity it wasn't recorded ... Read More:

After listening to the River off this album in my mates car I decided to buy my first springsteen record.
Im now a avid fan of the great man . Most of his classics are on the these 3 CD's . From the haunting tracks like Thunder road and Racing in the streets to rocking classics like Born to run and Rosalita.
If theres only one album you get then it sould be this one

Bach - Brandenburg Concertos

I don't know much about classical music unlike the other reviewers for this CD. However, I was fortunate in that my mother bought me a record (remember them?) of Concertos no 1,3 and 5. You get

1. all 6 Brandenburg concertos beautifully played by English Chamber Orchestra. Normally albums of Bach's Brandenburg concertos only have three of the concertos. Having listened to a few of these, the quality of this CD is at least equal to those recordings in my opinion.

2. two additional concertos: the Concerto for Oboe, Violin and Strings and the Concerto for Flute and Strings. The first of these, as observed in the other reviews, is stunning.

I think this CD is fabulous to listen to and is a complete steal for the price.

Ultimate Collection

I expected to find three well-know vintage hits here and little else. But a week on and I'm still playing it constantly and still putting down whatever I'm doing to give it my undivided attention. Which is surprising as this was never quite my kind of music. There's stuff here I doubt I'll ever really get to like (such as the later singles on disc 1 where the B sides tend to be better). But there's also much that seriously grows on you. What was good becomes great and the best is outstanding.

Good as disc 1 (I especially like the first two singles, the intrumentals and Come On Children) disc 2 is really where it's at, dominated as it must be by the peerless Itchycoo Park, Tin Soldier (how come I never heard this before? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have a vague recollection of hearing track one, "Come On", debut on Ready Steady , Go. Since then, I've been a fan of "early" Stones, previously compiled on what was the "London Sessions", but may have been renamed. It was good, and this is equally good. I guess the record company is maximising on re-issues before their fifty years is up. Then , presumably, we'll all be able to buy it all again for 99p in Woolworth's.

Like S.Hammond in an earlier review I too am a huge Metallica fan and consider myself very open minded musically, and I too have tried again and again to get out of this CD what it should be - but it just isn't. Every now and then a bit works really well, but the vast majority does not - it just sounds like two completely different pieces of music are playing at the same time. The orchestra should add weight and emotion to the songs we know and love (check out Dream Theater's 'Score' DVD for an example of how it should be done) but it just makes them sound messy. Very disappointed.

I love Billie Holiday and have for a long time.
Her voice haunts my soul every time I hear it, it reminds me of the first time I heard it in a cafe in Soho London, time seem to stand still as she sang "Strange Fruit".
This box set is a perfect start to her music and you can see the all other music from jazz to hip hop flowing through it, if you have never heard her sing then I plead with you to buy this boxset and start a journey that will take you to new highs.

A good start to female jazz vocals and from the queen herself.
