After hearing A-Punk what sane music lover couldn't want this album?

But with few tracks being as fun or catchy I was slightly disappointed. The album failed to make me bop continuously for the 34.2 minutes like i was expecting instead bringing out a slightly less catchy side. It's still listenable... Just not as listenable as I wanted it to be.

I'd give it a 7/10 in all.

How JB got to be voted best blues guitarist 2 years in succession is beyond me--he's good,but if you want superb,seek out the work of Derek Trucks.On some of his own band discs he's a little jazzy for some,I guess,so try the Allman Brothers Band's One Way out,where you'll not only get the wunderkind DT,but also Warren Hayes,another Hall of Fame alumni.I don't think Amazon offer this disc,but the "alternate suppliers" do,and it can be very reasonably priced.It's not for nothing that they are considered the best damned live band in the world,and once you try this,you'll be saying "joe Bonamassa?Ho hum!"One Way Out: Live at The Beacon Theatre

The Hawk Is Howling

I just want to reiterate how good this album is. Other reviewers sum up perfectly the reasons why this album is Mogwai's piece de resistance in their career so far. The soundtrack to Zidane offered hints that the band may be evolving towards this collection of tracks. When the composition is this good, lyrics are not needed. The fusion of guitar work, subtle instrumentals and layering of sounds is like aural tirami'su. There's a fantastic mix of reflective (Dapnhe and the Brain) and heavy guitar work (BatCat) but the whole album is excellent and it's one of those albums which makes you get up and press play again and again. I'm new to sigur ros - stumbled on to them via mtv 'inside me a lunatic sings' ('inni mer...', the 2nd track) it's on youtube.

very creative watchable band, please give a try if you like killers, muse, mgmt, beatles, arcade fire - this group has elements of all and we are going to enjoy this amazing talent for years to come hopefully. other tracks are on my first hearing are just as compelling. Better than bjork!

Poor Man's Heaven

I've tried, I really have but I do not like this. All the tracks are very similar. There is no light and shade. It's completely overproduced. Where is the fiery fiddling which brought him to so many people's attention.
He is definitely moving full speed to pop stardom. I"m beginning to think that Seth Lakeman's best album will always be Kitty Jay.

I'm sick of the reviews slating this for not being some orchestral masterpiece. The Pussycat Dolls make dance music!

There are so many great dance tracks on here along with a couple of powerful ballads. Yes, once again Nicole takes the spotlight but if the other girls were so unhappy about that they could follow in Carmit's footsteps!! If you get the deluxe addition you will hear a solo track by each of them (Kim's easily being the best- not saying much as the solo tracks, including Nicole's, are very weak but 'Lights, Camera, Action' is very decent)

I have counted a minimum of 8 tracks that I listen to regardless of the mood I'm in along with a few more if I am in the right mood.

Nineteen of ABBA's best songs are plenty, but you won't tire of them. It is amazing that four Swedes (Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus as writers and Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Agnetha Fältskog as the main singers) could take such simple English cliches and turn them into pop music magic. Despite sometimes maddeningly simple lyrics, the song arrangements were unnervingly catchy and the multi-level layered compostions are fascinating. The keyboards and synthesizers were used in some of the more ingenious ways during the seventies to produce that unmistakeable ABBA sound. All the Right Reasons

Chad Kroeger is a song writing genious. Not, of course, for ANY of the right reasons, but because he has a truly remarkable ability to churn out some of the most pathetic songs ever recorded and still sell millions of records. For this he deserves credit - in the same way Hitler deserves credit for tricking Europe into allowing him to rise to power.

It is not an exxaggeration in any way to describe Nickelback as the worst band ever. Chad Kroeger is the most listener-insultingly abysmal lyricist that I have ever heard. Before you pre-pubescent fans jump to his defence, I have evidence, in the form of some lines from the album:

Overall I'm not impressed by this album. She is 50 and this cd is as embarrassing as Prince Charles wearing baseball caps backwards and trying to speak like a rude-boi. She should take a cue from U2 who gave up trying to be whacky after their Zooropa and Pop cds; went back to their roots and quite frankly sounded much better. She can do a brilliant ballard, why doesn't she include some of those and leave the rnb for the hoody wearing teenagers.

I love this album I brought it after hearing two of the singles and there isn't a duff track on the album. Everytime I play a track it brings a smile to my face.
