To refer to The Stone Roses' eponymous masterpiece as "an album" is almost belittling. A genuine "work of art", an important slice of musical history, legend and folklore; the catalyst for untold numbers to form bands, listen and understand; these 48 minutes and so-many seconds of melodious magic have become, for many, more of a spiritual experience than "an album".
From the first listen to the 1000th and beyond, who can hear the creeping bass of the intro to "I Wanna Be Adored" without the hairs on the back of their neck standing on end?
Ian Brown's vocals ooze an effortless cool unmatched before or after, casually creating fantastic imagery and delivering lines with a belief that lifts them above arrogance ("kiss ... Read More:

This is an absolute 100% reggae classic. The movie is memorable, authentic and hip, the soundtrack timeless and brilliant. Every home should have one...

It just amazes me each time I listen to this album. The enormous talent. The versatility. The sheer inventiveness.
It follows a succession of albums that have got better and better. I was so taken aback by Origin of Symmentry and when I saw Muse live I was so speechless at how talented Matthew Bellamy is. But this album.....
It's everything about it. You can hear the orchestral basis for so many of these songs translated into unbelievable howling guitars. The powerful and poignant lyrics. The inventiveness.
See them live when you can and see how amazing this band is. They are incredible.

Being a Double CD it has numerous songs. Yet despite this, they all seem to sound the same. Even the cat left the kitchen when I played it. Must try to remember that for later. lol. Sorry Kylie but you are tedious. Even 'Madonna' has more variety than you. Wonder if 'Amazon' will print this review.

Another daring venture for Miss Murphy.
Going solo after being in a successful band is always a difficult task , the debut album will have so much hype and pressure surrounding it, it would be hard to impress, even if the album was a decent one. The second album, if the first was a good `un, would be even more difficult; to push the envelope further however tempting it would be to sit back and follow the template of the first. Roisin Murphy has had a damn good stab and almost succeeded.
2005's `Ruby Blue' was inconsistent admittedly but the high points completely overshadowed the low ones and was overall a success. It mixed experimental production and songwriting and pop music almost perfectly. It still sounds like not much else out ... Read More:

They made 3 albums, 'I Just Can't Stop It', 'Wha'ppen' and 'Special Beat Service' and if you're an 'The (English) Beat' fan (like i am for years) this compilation does'nt ad anything to what you already own. I'm 56 and still bouncin' 'round!! (Ranking Fullstop)

'Till the Sun...' is so much more better than 'Trouble' in so many ways, I think I'd have to be a quadruped with 60 toes to count them all! (But one reason it's better is that it's offensibly, criminally dirt-cheap compared to trouble!) 'Be Here Now' almost reaches out of the darkness with its overdone horn and string arrangements, giving it a somewhat dream-like quality. The next track, 'Empty', is by far the best song on the album, with deep, emotional, bleak lyrics and a good mixture of piano, gentle percussion, strings and Ray on the guitar. 'Lay with Me' is also quite a sweet tune about breaking inhibitions, and 'Three More Days' is a funky, soulful little number. At first you'll be of mixed opinion, but I think Ray's done himself proud with this one. 'Within ... Read More:

If you were born in the late 1940's to early 1950's then you will be more than familiar with Dusty Springfield. She was on TV more than most, (and we only had 3 channels), and out of the 21 tracks on here virtually every one of them was a single. It's one of those great CD's where, even if you have a lousy voice, you put it on and find yourself singing along. Dusty may have been more for Mum's and Dad's at the time, but growing up when her hits were around, I find I enjoy this album more now than ever before. Nostalgia. That's what it is. And Dusty's unique voice is better than any around today!

James Morrison reminds me of Terence Trent Derby with his distinctive vocals and cut down style, very few musical instruments, often just acoustic guitar and drums.Echoes of Stevie Wonder and chords and melodies that have a passing resemblance to other artists' songs complete the mix.I really like this album but it wasn't one that i liked first time of hearing. It's an album you need to play and let it grow on you. It's a little raw and naive in places and a little like a live recording of a busker on a city street corner. No bells and whistles, just a guy relying and believing in his talent. This gives it some originality and credit to James Morrison on producing a stunning album that may not be for everyone but will be enjoyed by most.Recommended.

Fantastic soundtrack. As a writer looking for inspiration for film music, this has to be one of my absolute favourites. Buy it now!
