I have a friend in Bloomington with whom I go to films on a regular basis. We have several genres of films which we prefer, and others with which we will experiment, but animation, particularly Disney, was never among them. However, I've often enjoyed Robin Williams characterisations, and so persuaded my friend Jim (who informed me that I would then owe him the next three film selections) to go to Aladdin. He enjoyed the film, and I loved it. This was a children's film that had entertainment value for adults, too, and crafted the witticism and irony into the dialogue and songs that were incredible.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame

The Hunchback of Notre Dame is a 5 star album displaying once again Menken's talents. The music can be enjoyed by child fans of the movie and adult music lovers, although I feel some messages in the songs are too heavy for young children. The music has a catholic choral style (as some is in latin) as well as a gypsy bohemian theme contrasting. 'Hell fire' is a passionate song of lust with a heavy theme on the morals surrounding gypsys, witchcraft, church and the law. But the right message is sent out in the ballad 'God help the outcasts'. The music brilliantly describes the time and feel of Victor Hugo's epic novel with a touch of comedy in the talking gargoyles. This c.d is fabulous!

The Little Mermaid

I have always loved Walt Disney's The Little Mermaid so was quite shocked that they was a cast recording of this film. The question being, would I like this musical? Well the answer is YES. This Broadway cast recording has all the songs from the film plus some new show tunes. My personal favourite is Kiss The Girl but I think that will have to take second place, as my favourite song in this new musical is called If Only. That song to me is outstandingly beautiful. Four of the main characters singing about things that matter to them. If you loved the cast recording of Beauty And The Beast and Mary Poppins, then this is just for you. I give this Broadway cast recording 10/10 it's that great.

Kevin Kiner's composing credits at the Internet Movie Database include 67 scores, most of them for American television. I've seen a few episodes of some of these programs, though I can't say that I ever remember hearing of Kevin Kiner until his name was announced as the composer for the new Star Wars animated feature, The Clone Wars. And in fact I suppose that's true for most Star Wars fans, and the general public, as well. The composer doesn't maintain a web presence, but perhaps he's too busy. In a recent interview he noted recording 400 minutes of music for the new animated Clone Wars television series.

Star Wars: Episode II: Attack Of The Clones

I really loved this soundtrack. John Williams has again created an amazing soundtrack and he has come up with a brilliant track 'Across the stars' which is a love theme for Anakin and Padme. This track tells us the whole story of their forbidden love and it is really beautifull.
I also love how the soundtrack created some small developments of Anakin's dark side, featuring the famous Darth Vader theme in parts and 'Duel of the Fates' expressing his anger, which is uncontrollable.
I found listening to this soundtrack expressed the story of the film, with joyful theme and the love theme being over ruled by the music expressing Anakin's anger.
Really great soundtrack! I recommend it to any star wars and John williams fans!

I'd say this is one of my most favourite Disney soundtracks and I own lots! A fantastic blend of romantic ballad type songs and funky upbeat tunes like "Perfect World" and great sing-a-long songs like "Snuff Out The Light" (yes I do sing-a-long LOL). This one is quite different from the more sentimental and romantic Disney soundtracks and has more upbeat tunes than a lot of other Disney soundtracks. A must for every one- not just for kids - after all I'm 19 years old LOL!

Star Wars: Special Edition Original Soundtrack [SOUNDTRACK]

This is one of those discs that has had a long life in my house - I first had the soundtrack of Star Wars on cassette tape, then when that broke (from being overplayed), I got the vinyl version (so I could re-record the tracks in a better order). When that record set got worn and poppy, I got the CD, and then when this special edition came out, I got it too. So, I guess one could say that this is a perennial favourite.

Even the design of the discs is fun - the round discs are overprinted with a graphic of the Death Star on them; were I still a kid (I was 12 years old when Star Wars first came out), I would be thrilled (and I must confess, that small part of me does still enjoy this quite a bit).
