Brilliant choice of carols and great quality singing, however the recordings are very old (from the 1950s and 1960s) and in places this affects the quality. One of the carols (o little town)distorts slightly when it gets very loud and for Once in Royal the first verse is incredibly quiet.
As a soprano, I was also disappointed that Once in Royal didn't include the descant in the last verse.
I can't find a better selection of carols on one CD so get this if you don't mind the odd problem with sound quality.

.............A copy of this great cd, i dare you to buy it and only get it out at christmas! It can be enjoyed the whole year round i mean i was listing to in greece in June! A absolute must have in your collection, next to the writings on the wall and survivor of course! 10/10 Good on you girls, you're at your best on this album.....Beyonce, Michelle and Kelly you rock! A Tweenies Christmas

I have just bought this for the second time (1st one got mutilated!). Normally I cannot stand the tweenies but this CD is really quite good, and much better than some of the rubbish childrens music you can buy. It even manages to get both my kids away from the telly and up and dancing together without any arguments!

Having been a King's Singers fan for decades I was happy, but still kind of disappointed, to welcome another Christmas album from the group; this is their third such issue on CD format. Happily, the repertoire does include "novelties" (if this a suitable word for old music) and the songs are well organised. Moreover, the performances are the best so far - the recording line-up (there have been a change since :-() is, in my opinion, the best one for Early music.
