My baby had always seemed transfixed with the sesame street characters from quite an early age so we bought this DVD to see if he would enjoy it. He absolutely loves it and dances along to the very catchy songs - of which their are many. Only downside is myself and my husband seem to be singing the songs all the time aswell. I would thoroughly recommend this for anyone with a baby from a year upwards if only for the songs initially and then the learning possibilities later.

A lovely 2CD Classic FM compilation of relaxing music - for mothers as much as their babies - consisting of an interesting assortment of baroque, classical, romantic and modern music with the underlying theme of aiming to relax the listener.

Some pieces are chosen partly for their title as well as the soothing effect they have, these include the 'Lullaby' by Brahms and 'The Swan' from 'Carnival of the Animals' by Saint-Saens. The more contemporary offerings are by popular composers such as Patrick Hawes. These are good recordings, as expected by Classic FM, many of which will be comfortably familiar to most of the radio shows listeners.

Comfortably safe by Classic FM maybe, but comfortably relaxing too.

If you know the Storyteller series it's probably the famous nine programmes made with John Hurt as the tale-teller. There is no way to adequately describe the brilliance of the films and special effects .... save to say these are definitely NOT bedevilled with CGI but are based upon the superb Henson creature workshop and advanced puppetry and animatronics.

The second DVD of Greek myths featuring Michael Gambon (and the shaggy dog) is no less excellent - but there are only 4 stories and absolutely no extras. Surely there was room for some behind-the-scenes films about the Creature Workshop? This is a totally cheapskate and unforgivable oversight - hence the loss of a star.

After listening to this C.D at a friends house, whose son had been given it as birthday gift, i was hooked. Although it is aimed at a young audience (it comes complete with stickers), I genuinly feel that its rich range of culturally diverse music has something to offer everyone. 'Three little birds' is a well known Bob Marley song and on this albumn, his mother, who sings it, brings it to life with classic reggae charm. Along similar lines is Manu Chao's 'Bongo Bong'. A chilled, funky French tune based around the story of bongo playing monkey! This really has got to be heard. This is a C.D that consists of 12 excellent songs. This CD is fabulous for anyone to listen to but my 18 month old daughter has always loved it too. We play her tracks 18 till 23 (the end) every night as she goes to bed and Bing's velvet tones do the trick every night. A word of caution: these soporific songs often have the same effect on my husband and I as we listen via the baby monitor!
