Well this one is a little different to previous issues from the Cafe.
It has more of a Bossa Flamenco feel to it with some excellent choices. Ivan Tucakov's (Cinnabar Mx) is outstanding on CD1 as well as Capricorn and Heading for the sunrise.
CD2 starts with Nera & Felix "Del Mar" a truly magnificent piece. The album is not the usual stlye one has come to expect but is worth a listen and is never of my CD changer.
Release Date February 26, 2008
This collection is worth buying, if only for the third cd. The first disc is ok, but instantly forgettable. The second is better, but the third is truly amazing! Horace Andy, Marcia Griffiths, Al Brown and many more are sublime!!
Release Date February 16, 1999
A refreshingly thick slice of humming bass topped with more beats and breaks than you could ask for. Conversions is a great record that remains the unsung hero of mid-nineties electronic creativity. All tracks are coherent, original and beautifully melodic. Very boppy and up-tempo, and with one foot firmly planted in Drum & Bass, Conversions will always make heads turn and feet tap. K&D Live up to their reputation as seamless mixers, creators and producers on this release. Although Amazon have the original release date for this as 1999, it is in fact a much older record that precedes everything K&D have done bar G-stoned (I think!). This further underlines their reputations as cutting edge downbeat peddlers.

Alison has a great voice and they are both good writers;
The only bad thing is that the DVCVD will play only on Mac OS 9 (or Classic-which are both now long gone.)

I bought this on the strength of the reviews here (and lets face it, it is damn cheap). It contains some good tracks and I guess it does live up to the title. I found the production somewhat dated and the drum and bass doesn't really rattle the speakers as I would expect. If you are looking for a better all round compilation, check out The Front Line box set which is still my favourite by far.

Air seem determined not to repeat themselves. Instead of making another 'Moon Safari,' they've gone on to more challenging projects, such as writing the music for 'The Virgin Suicides.' This CD continues their soundtrack work, but this time their sublime music is used to accompany and imitate short stories and poetry provided by the Italian author Alessandro Baricco. Some people may find the readings a bit intrusive, but with some patience, the album becomes almost hypnotically sublime. Luckily, the poet has a good voice and the quality of his writing is of no real concern, as it is spoken in Italian anyway. (The sounds of the words are more important than their meanings.) Air have continued to make their music more complex and interesting. It sounds ... Read More:
