Air seem determined not to repeat themselves. Instead of making another 'Moon Safari,' they've gone on to more challenging projects, such as writing the music for 'The Virgin Suicides.' This CD continues their soundtrack work, but this time their sublime music is used to accompany and imitate short stories and poetry provided by the Italian author Alessandro Baricco. Some people may find the readings a bit intrusive, but with some patience, the album becomes almost hypnotically sublime. Luckily, the poet has a good voice and the quality of his writing is of no real concern, as it is spoken in Italian anyway. (The sounds of the words are more important than their meanings.) Air have continued to make their music more complex and interesting. ... Read More:

What a cd! Im only not giving it 5 stars because CD1 is a bit of a let down incomparison to CD2 - but maybe Im being harsh with CD2 being one of the best cds I maybe have ever heard... A big claim indeed, and I usually steer clear of the MOS sort of big brand stuff - but I heard it playing when in a cd shop in Sydney and haven't stopped since.. A real and rare journey, that holds your attention throughout...just dont be put off by the Ministry of Sound badge..

This is pants! I got this when i first explored arabic music...and i hated it. It washed out, colourless and and is about as arabic as me (and im from kent!) Really, it seems to have been released at the budget end of the market and i can see why. Its the sort of compilation that has been put together to cash in on the success of others, you know, like Buddha Bar spawned endless Buddha chillout, Buddha cafe Buddha blah blah albums that are a poor relation. This album lacks integrity. I really wouldn't if i were you. Arabic music is superb if you buy the right stuff, unfortunately this isnt it. Get the real thing by real arabic artists, not some dude in amixing studio. Buy 'arabic jukebox' or 'arabic groove' instead, if you dont believe me, then check out ... Read More:

I am not usually a Chillout music fan, but this album totally swayed me. It's brilliant for relaxation, but without being boring. Each song is totally individual yet still really haunting and calming. I can't really describe how good it is, but whatever music type you enjoy, you will still love this album.

Since I first bought Cafe Del Mar 5 I've been totally hooked on these compilations and Volume 7 and 9 even exceeded my expectations of an already fabulous series...this is why Volume 10 was such a disappointment for me...there's not one standout track, when normally there are at least three, and it all sounded a bit lacklustre. It still beats the usual Chillout albums that are cranked out ad nauseum , but won't be going down as one of the classics...I would reach for one of the previous albums or even The Rurals everytime over this disappointing final(?) effort.

Album number four for Morcheeba.
A stylish effort with far more class to it than the coffee-table blandness of its predecessor.
Stand-out track is "What New York Couples Fight About" featuring the wonderful Kurt Wagner of Lambchop. Wagner adds his delicate vocals to this tune which unfolds very well. "Way Beyond Our Means" is charming and "Sao Paolo" is a nice track which adds a touch of class to proceedings.
Elsewhere the usual sweet yet inconsequential sounds prevail.
A step in the right direction for Morcheeba. A slight return to form.

Having brought this double album from Cafe Del Moar in San Antonio after listening to other of their albums, this one seemed to bring back to me the time that I had on that holiday, chilling sitting at the bar watching the sun go down, I even convinced another customer to buy it who wasn't sure which one to buy. Its got everything on it I like, no regrets.
