Peter Kruders project, Peace Orchestra, is possibly one of the most "perfect" minimalist Lounge albums ever made!

Whenever I get tired of sound, beats, etc, and want to find something inspirational I always float to Peace Orchestra. It always brings me back to the simple joy of music-listening again, back to the elements which make all the difference.

But it is also one of those albums that was made for remixing...it had to happen. While the original tracks are so pure that you almost do not want to mess with them, they are also begging for a million and one alternate expressions.

Reset is kinda like "pimp my CD!"

I bought this at the Cafe del Mar, having just watched the sun go down whilst sipping champagne and cocktails with a friend. Beautiful. Three days later our car was broken into and my bag was nicked, with this inside. Less beautiful. Suffice to say I'd grown to love this album enough by that point to be replacing it now I'm home. Everyone's got volume 5. Be different...

Everything Is Wrong : DJ Mix Album

This isn't consistently brilliant like Play or consistently good like 18, but it does have some simply outstanding material on it. The opening Hymm, for exapmple, and Into the Blue, God Moving Over the Face of the Waters and When it's Cold I like to Die. Those are the dreamy, whistful spacey ones. Also exceptional is Everytime You Touch Me, and I don't usually like that sort of thumping club music. It's tracks like All That I Need is to be Loved that I don't like. I find them discordant and jarring.

The long awaited first single from Nightmares On Wax new album "Mind Elevation" (released September 2002)fills my ears with the ever pleasing musical sounds of DJ Ease and cohorts. I thought it may have let me down - being the die hard fan of NOW that I am - but I'm pleased to say NOW are back (about time!)and true to form. This is yet another mellow and funky musical materpiece - featuring lyrics and vocals from Chyna B - it really needs to be listened to to be appreciated. Buy it and it'll keep you entertained until they release the album!

Spurred on by the 5 star reviews I purchased the double CD set. I have to say that it mixes the kind of pop/dance/house music that you would have heard 5-7 years ago with Arabic chanting and lyrics. There are a handful of nice tracks here that you could make a compilation with, but its not ground breaking. Nice packaging but lacking in substance.

Spurred on by the 5 star reviews I purchased the double CD set. I have to say that it mixes the kind of pop/dance/house music that you would have heard 5-7 years ago with Arabic chanting and lyrics. An organic ambient experience. For the first half of the CD Fila Brazillia manage to place jazzy, soul-styled and classical musical fragments layered over chilled beats to create an effortless sound. Then the processes, from "Butter My Mask" and "Wigs, Bifocals And Nourishment" are reversed as the CD veers towards a more techno-sounding landscape no-less captivating than the CD's first half. Definitely floaty-light music.

A stylish effort with far more class to it than the coffee-table blandness of its predecessor.
Stand-out track is "What New York Couples Fight About" featuring the wonderful Kurt Wagner of Lambchop. Wagner adds his delicate vocals to this tune which unfolds very well. "Way Beyond Our Means" is charming and "Sao Paolo" is a nice track which adds a touch of class to proceedings.
Elsewhere the usual sweet yet inconsequential sounds prevail.
A step in the right direction for Morcheeba. A slight return to form.
