I think everyone found the previous release, Jump Leads, a bit TOO smooth for their liking. I have to admit, I'd been snapping up all Fila releases up until that point but just wasn't feeling it.
Seems like Phoebus Brumal is the complete anti-Jump Leads. The slick smooth funk is out the window, to be replaced by some seriously perky upbeat tracks. The mood of the album is similar to the uptempo disc of Brazilification 2.
Plenty of energy and vibrancy in all of the tracks on offer, however I still don't have those special stand out moments as when I'm listening to Maim That Tune, Powerclown or Braziliafication 1, but I'm glad to see that these guys are still firing these albums out AND contantly changing and shifting their ... Royksopp is a wonderful find, and in particular Melody A.M. The group have, and with great success, produced a collection of tracks with great continuity and, I must add, respect for their listener's ears. It is truly a delight to put on this record. Although the tracks can be soothing, and ideal for chill out, I thought a few allowed you to do anything but chill out. Poor Leno in particular is sexy, and creeps up on you when you're least expecting it.
Brilliant.

Fila Brazillia - Another Fine Mess
If you like electronic music and are pretty open-minded then this album is for you. I would seriously rate this as one of the 2 best dance compilations I've ever heard. Later by Bent also shares the podium with Fila's AFM. It's not a beat-matched bonanza, far from it - it's a grand fade-in/fade-out selection of funky, unusual and dance-friendly tunes that together make a blisteringly listenable piece of work.
Perhaps it's the seemingly incongruous styles that are spliced together with stainless steel perfection, maybe it's FB's wealth of experience as musicians and DJs or maybe it's just that these guys have an ear for what works - but it's probably all of the above. Either way, right from track 1 ... Read More:

Most people know of this album, indeed most people probably own it by now! So, I won't review the tracks or album as a whole, as this has probably been done better elsewhere and many times before. I bought it when it actually came out, back in 1999, to poor reviews and little fanfare. (A fact many people don't know). I even bought all the singles, as I have nearly all of Moby's singles to date; so why do you ask, did I buy it again, when I probably have all the tracks anyway?
Well, as you can probably deduce, I'm a bit of a Moby fan and collector, having gotten the bug when 'Everything is Wrong' came out. There are other reasons for buying this box set however; firstly some of the b-side tracks differ slightly from the versions released on the original ... Read More:

The exquisite sound of Tosca return, with tracks full of intelligent beats, from jazzy downbeat, cinematic blues and mellow house sound styles. The work of Richard Dorfmeister and Rupert Huber is so deep that creates a cold and warm atmosphere at same time. Featuring the most beautiful vocal performances from Earl Zinger and Valerie Etienne, Samia Farah, Chris Eckman and Diana Lueger, Stefan Graf Hadik Wildner and the greatest "Anna Clementi" and Farda P. This album is the most consistent formulation of both the carefree and the melancholic aspects of Tosca. The melodies quicken, the grooves are both fun loving and laidback. Huber and Dorfmeister have found both a fresh understanding of the art of understatement and a newly reformulated, breathtaking musical authenticity. ... Read More:
If you like "Supernature", "Black Cherry", and "Seventh Tree", have "Felt Montain". Obviously it's the weakest out of the 4, though really relaxing and entres you into a total state of calm.

It is refreshing to hear this song, even after the end of summer and :( ,the sun. Especially if its someone like Jakkata who had another hit single with the songs 'American Dream' and 'Lonely'. It's also refreshing to hear the soothing vocals of Seal himself, after a long break. The combination creates a sufefire hit which I'm sure will take your breath away, or at least, remind you what the sun looks like in an English winter.
