I own four other Cafe Del Mar CD's, and this one, by far, stands out the most and has the best sound. It is a little more trancy than the others, offering a more rythmic hypnotic beat. Simply amazing! A must buy if you like the CDM series!

Moby's self-titled debut is merely just a collection of tracks and singles released under the Instinct label during the late 80s and early 90s, and whilst such collections seem uneven and sparse, this album, with its relentless energy of early 90s house and techno anthems seems to have manageable cohesion and consistency.

Beginning with the hard-edged raving 'Drop A Beat', this track sets the tone and epitomises most of the hard-edged techno that is vastly featured amongst the album's twelve tracks, such as the chaotic 'Next Is The E', the darkly sounding 'Have You Seen My Baby' and the catchy 'Ah-Ah'.

The Orb may not be as relevant to electronic music and music in general as they once were but BAT shows that they still know how to make a great album. More upbeat and diverse, this album isn't so much a single listening epic as their early stuff but just a collection of good Orb tracks, naturally filled with weird, trippy samples. The best tracks are Hell's Kitchen, The Land of Green Ginger, Gee Strings, LUCA and From a Distance all of which are classic Orb. Everything else is good but these tracks are the ones that make the album such a good listen. Worth buying but get their earlier releases to see them at their full potential.

What a fantastic album this is, I can't recommend it highly enough. Against the backdrop of Gareth Gates & most chart pap this is a diamond in the rough. Great songs, superb musicianship & not a drop in the standard over two CD's. If your into David Gray, Van Morrison, The Corrs, Enya , Eva Cassidy or just like real music then this is definately for you. I love the film soundtracks also ,the verion of Enio Morricone's Once Upon A Time in The West is superb. Buy this now you wont be disapointed .

This might serve as a gentle introduction to Irish music, but I know so many of original versions of the tracks that a lot of this is hard to listen to. I mistakenly bought the album thinking it was original artists.
The couple on this disk do a game job: woman is a much better singer than the chap.
Much better to buy Enya and Clannad originals. Early Clannad albums have a wealth of traditional Irish folk, before they went eletronic, and the Corrs are a great next step.
Sorry, but the originals are better.

Maim That Tune

Fila sure have fired out alot of albums in their time. If I was restricted to only being able to own three I would say that Powerclown, Brazilification 1 and this little gem would be my choices.

Powerclown represents the best of more recent Fila and Brazilificaion 1 is the best of all their remixes, Maim That Tune is possibly the best of all their original works.

There are some simply wonderful spine tingler tracks on here. You can't pigeon the style and they are simple yet oh so effective. After a low key opener you're then treated to one of the best tracks I've ever heard, A Zed And 2 L's.
