This CD was given to me as a christmas present, but have only started listening to it recently. The first disc is the best with the chest burstingly beautiful "O mio babbino caro", but the second disk is heaving with relaxing hits. It really does do what it say's on the tin, the most relaxing CD on the market, the second being "Pure peace". I can only advise you to buy it now, if I am wrong you can resell it on amazon for almost it's purchase price and I am sure there will be many takers.

This is really one of the best albums i have had. Prior to the release of the Cosmic Game, I spent a really long time in the UK going to record-shop after record shop asking if they had "Thievery Corporation" to be told "huh?". I'm sorry, but this is music which deserves better recognition. It's not like they are particularly obsecure/specialist. Amerimacka remains one of my favourite tracks.
Its the ambience of chill-out and great vocals on many tracks which really stand this out. If you can get this with Sounds from Thievery Hi-Fi, you can see how far these guys have developed.

Most reviewers will mention a certain nostalgia contained within the music here, and they're right. It initially seems obvious; with the laughter of children prevalent throughout and the eerie, faded, and oh so suitable album art, but there's something that runs much deeper on Music Has the Right to Children, something that lives beyond the surface of synths, beats and scratches. It's hard to put your finger on, but once it gets you it just won't let go. An album to treasure.
Also, make sure you get the version with 'Happy Cycling' on. Definitely one of the duo's finest and most effective tracks.

A legendary EP to many, and perhaps understandably so when you factor in the immense following the previous album has gained over the years. Released two years later, In a Beautiful Place out in the Country is Michael & Marcus Sandison at their most streamlined and condensed. By getting rid of the shorter tracks they definitely lose something crucial, but it's quite refreshing to hear an EP this focused yet still managing to contain the magic that gained them their reputation in the first place.

If you want the best introduction to cafe del mar music - don't buy this! Instead buy Cafe Del Mar DREAMS volumes 2 & 3. I guarantee they will get you hooked! Volume 3 is nearly all superb tracks including OASIS by GAIA Project and Have a Smoke by DAB. Volume 2 has the stunning Castillos De Area by Deep&Wide and Stay asleep among many others. Jose Padilla may have started it all but Bruno makes much better selections!

The best place to start for anyone thinking of buying an Orb record as it's got most of their best tunes edited down to a nice length and offers one classic after another. Even if you already own the albums it's still worth getting this 'best of'. My one complaint is that there's no tracks from Orbus Terrarum (aside from having Oxbow Lakes as a secret track) which is a shame as it would be nice to hear a radio edit of Slug Dub. Still an essential purchase.

A great album to sip sangria to. Not a 'jazzy' as the latest Vol.9 but offers a warm blend of subtle head-calmindg tunes and 'beaty' vibes. Recommended for the rainy nights in and sunny beach-days out.

For lovers of older Moby, those album obviously comes as a shock - the songs don't have quite the same Moby feel to them. Nevertheless, I absolutely love this album. Admittedly, it's taken a bit of getting used to (mostly due to my stubborn refusal to listen to it now that Lift Me Up has become so popular) but once you really sit down and listen to it, the musical genius that is Moby really shines through. The only tracks that don't really agree with me are Lift Me Up (predominantly due to its popularity!) and Beautiful, most likely because they sound too "mainstream" and I prefer more quirky, alternative sounds. My absolute favourites would be I Like It (bit sexy), Slipping Away and Forever. These three really are beautifully handcrafted songs, which is why I love them so much. ... Read More:
