`Kingdom of Comfort' has been hailed as a return to form with renewed purpose for delirious? Sadly, despite having its moments, for most of this album delirious? seem to be a band whose day has gone, trying desperately to regain some momentum. Any hope of connecting again with the cultural mainstream in which `King of Fools' and `Mezzamorphis' once so proudly swam seems to have been abandoned with an album aimed squarely at the Christian sub-culture. Many of the songs plod where delirious? once soared and the lyrics confuse where once they inspired. Why is God smiling when our hearts are broken? Does the Spirit really teach us to distance ourselves from the world when we live our dreams and sing a new song?

It's been great to finally get hold of a CD of some of his tracks since the CD reissues from a few years ago are now deleted, though are available for download from many sites. And in the light of how quickly his CDs are deleted you probably want to grab this NOW.

What a brilliant album! I had been considering buying a Kutless album for some time; after hearing 'All Of The Words' (on a 'Scrubs' episode no less!!) I Youtubed some of their other songs - imagine my joy when I realised the songs I most enjoyed ('Draw Me Close', Strong Tower', 'All Of The Words', an excellent cover of Chris Tomlin's 'We Fall Down', the original of which I possess, and to which it compares favourably) were all to be found on this one album. I was further pleasantly surprised when I saw there was a cover of the wonderful MercyMe song, 'Word Of God Speak', the original of which I have been enjoying on the radio - how nice to inadvertently own my own version! Offerings: A Worship Album

With all the artist lead worship albums released, sometimes they can all start to run together. Third Day had a wonderful idea for their first worship album, originally released in 2000. They wrote and recorded new worship songs, but also recorded some of their best worship songs live, giving the album a unique feel.

The project starts with "King of Glory" an original song that answers the question "Who is this King of Glory?" It's easy to get caught up in the praise offered here. "These Thousand Hills" is next. Hope

Last year's Hillsongs Live Worship album 'Blessed' I listened to once. If you could wear out a CD then I have come close to wearing out 'Hope'. Hillsongs songs can suffer from bland lyrics; not so here. 'Glory', 'Hope' 'Exceeding Joy' and 'Highest' have the perfect mix of scriptural lyrics and fine music. There is a range of styles from the more meditative 'Still' through to the dance orientated 'Cant stop praising'. As always, both instrumentalsists and singers form a well-rehearsed tight unit. My personal worship has been enhanced over the years by listening to Hillsongs albums and then introducing their songs to my own worship band. Excellent stuff!

Christmas

This CD was a real departure for Michael W. Smith. Released right after his i2(eye) CD, it was a complete style change - from 80's pop/rock to a choral sound. I must admit at first I was really disappointed, but the CD has grown on me until it's become one of my favorites.

This CD sounds more like a choral album then an artist driven solo project. In fact, Michael doesn't even have all the solos. The music is full orchestra for a Christmas pageant feel. There are very few traditional carols on here, except in instrumental form. As a result, it takes several listens before it sounds remotely Christmassy. Red have brought back the Nu-metal sound of old, similar to Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory, this album is full of agression and melody amidst some damn good song writing. Every song here is a potential single, so its no wonder that 2 years after its release, they are still riding the wave of success of this album in the states, but not so much here in UK, because this kind of music is not "in" anymore, its all about the emo/indie bands these days, which is a shame cause the lyrics on an album like this are more hard-hitting and passionate than anything i've heard on the radio today. I reccomend this album for anyone who bought "Minutes to Midnight" by Linkin Park and were dissapointed, because this album continues the legacy of nu-metal in great style.

Manic Moonlight

If you're reading this, you are probably already familiar with King's X, one of the greatest underground bands in rock/metal for the last 15 years or so. I have been a fan since Gretchen and couldn't wait to listen to this when it was first released.
This gets 4 stars overall, despite the fact that the album contains some of my very favourite KX tracks. The strong songs on this album are extremely strong and match up well with any KX material. In my opinion, the standout tracks are Believe, Manic Moonlight, False Alarm and The Other Side. The last of these is simply brilliant and these 4 songs alone justify the purchase.
