Michael W Smith never stays in one musical place for too long. And with "I'll Lead You Home" he again shifts direction. True enough, the 14 tracks contain those trade-mark melodies and choruses that keep you humming for days, but this album gives them a more stripped down setting. Smitty opens proceedings with the driving 'Can you hear me' and 'Breakdown', both featuring some brillliant guitar work by Dann Huff,but then moves down a gear into his own musical working of the Lord's Prayer - it sounds dodgy, but it works brilliantly. This is another one of those CD's I keep buying extra copies of to give away! It is an utterly moving and joyful experience on the ear and heart.

These guys obviously have a huge love of their God and of giving Him praise in song. Their lyrics are punchy, honest and blend fantastically well with their melodic rock style.

From the strength and gentler paced songs "How great is your love" and "Fall down" to the passion of "On my way to You" (which contains the wonderful line "teach me to think like You think") and the sheer celebration of "Call to worship" and "In You", this is an album that just makes you want to sing. I always loved DC TALK, such a great group. Sad that they disbanded. But i can find respite in the fact that all the guys are still working on solo projects. Tobymacs to me are the best. Just for diversity and rawness and the whole feeling of joy i get from rocking to all of this guys incredible stuff.

Whereas Kevin Max is great but more of an alternative artist and therefore not likely to be as popular as tobs, and with Tait being just simply a pop rock group, its good to have just plain diversity. Dont get me wrong, i love both the other guys solo projects, but not quite as much as tobsters.

He starts with this brilliant debut record, packed full of fun and seriousness in equal measure. Trudog is just cool man..bling ... Read More:

This album is great glam rock! I usually don't like so much glam but this album is great metal with great message. The songs like "Reach Out", "Makes Me Wanna Sing", "Soldiers Under Command", and "The Rock That Makes Me Roll" are still played in their gigs after more than 20 years. This is one of their best albums.
