Red have brought back the Nu-metal sound of old, similar to Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory, this album is full of agression and melody amidst some damn good song writing. Every song here is a potential single, so its no wonder that 2 years after its release, they are still riding the wave of success of this album in the states, but not so much here in UK, because this kind of music is not "in" anymore, its all about the emo/indie bands these days, which is a shame cause the lyrics on an album like this are more hard-hitting and passionate than anything i've heard on the radio today. Filled with power and beauty, this instrumental recording has a Celtic feeling to most of its melodies, some of which is recorded in Dublin; it's music that can't be put in a single classification, and goes beyond the Christian genre.
It's become a constant companion of mine while I work, as I find it both peaceful and energizing. There is a visual quality to many of the compositions, and they would be great expanded for dance or film.

There are some lovely lyrical pieces, like "Carol Ann" (in whose memory this CD is dedicated), "The Giving", and "Prayer for Taylor", but perhaps my favorite is "Freedom Battle", which has a magnificent orchestral arrangement, with distant horns and terrific rhythmic contrasts. Featuring Stevie Wonder and other fab singers.
The Ev'ry Valley and Rejoyce "arias" is the best!
Raw and full of emotions! Its a shame they didnt record the whole Messiah!! A real GEM!!

Her music is in some of the soul survivor worship books- that's how i came to know her music- because her name kept popping up. So got the album, was a bit of a gamble... but i really like it. Great music to listen to- and bring into the church if you're a worship leader- or maybe recommend it to your worship leader!
