The Chess BoxCD-Charts > Music > Classic Female Singers by: Etta James Release Date August 14, 2000 This box set contains songs she recorded with Chess over a long period, from her early smash hits such as 'At Last' through to her tougher, heroin inspired material such as 'All The Way Down'. Many of the better tracks only seem to be available on this CD. Standout tracks include 'I'd Rather Go Blind', "Down So Low', "God's Song" 'Let's Burn Down The Cornfield', ' Out on The Street Again' and many more. I'd recommend this set to anyone wanting the Chess material, but do remember she also did great stuff on several albums for Island, and now has her own label. But this set contains many of the classics, and is very listenable. It's worth it. |
