I really like this album, it's a natural successor to the brilliant 'Sweet Freedom' which was a hard act to follow but I think that it does it very well.
Just how I like it.. nice and heavy with lots of special moments not least with the title track which is one of my favourite Heep tunes, a great melody which sticks in your mind and I often find myself humming it for no reason at all. 'Suicidal Man', 'So Tired', 'Something or Nothing' and 'We got We' are all great rockers, well played and produced but (agreeing with the previous reviewer) the star of the show has to be 'I Won't Mind' - a fabulous track full of Heep delights like slide guitar, heavy wah wah solo and some great singing from David Byron.
Gary Thain's bass playing really ... Read More:

Imagine growing up as Phil Lynott in 1960's Dublin! The times he must've stood in front of the mirror and looked for his 'Vagabond' dad. Eric Bell's beautiful guitar is the sound of the poet's soul. If ever a boy needed his dad around...

It's a bit softer than their other albums, and the songs aren't as fun to listen to either. And the lyrics can be weak at points, but other songs (Guilded C*nt, Nymphetamine Fix, English Fire) make up for that. However, overall, it is not as good as their previous albums or their newest ones. If you're just getting into Cradle, though, this might be a good one to get if you're not accustomed to really thrashy stuff. Then, after this, you can get Thornography and work your way back from Damnation & A Day. So...yeah. This is a good introduction to metal and COF, but if you're already a fan of both, it's got it's strong points and it's (very) weak points...

This is the best 'soft rock' Rainbow album by quite some margin. The songs are stronger the whole way through than any previous album. Even the album tracks are great! They parted on a high.

this their 3rd and most powerful yet. the last of the lizzy trio. the foundations on what the group were built on, whiskey in the jar riding high in the charts although not on this original LP, a edited version of the rocker seemed to be in most decent `jukeboxes` at the time , but the album version had the finest lead guitar break Eric Bell had ever done.Mama nature says, a good song about world pollution, Little girl in bloom, a young girl telling her parents that shes pregnant, Slow blues, with a scorching guitar break at the end. My favourite The hero and the madman, with naration by 70`s DJ, David (kid) Jensen, featuring some fantastic bass runs by Phil, complimented by guitar and drums... This and Bad Reputation, are my best Lizzy albums!

I bought this after buying his greatest hits "Hell Is" this is an awesome rock with great solos and perfect vocals by alice which i can't see no one hating his vocals. Best tracks for me are Hey Stoopid, Snakebite, Might As Well Be On Mars & Hurricane Years. This is just awesome rock with no gimmicks. Come on you gotta love Alice Cooper.

I cant speak for every Thunder fan but I think that this one of the best albums the band has made. The reason it's so good is because the quality of the material is just as good as the previous Thunder albums Backstreet Symphony,& Laughing on Judgement Day. Luke Morley shines on Behind Closed Doors because he is not only an good guitarist but he is a excellent songwriter. Songs like Future Train, Till The River Runs Dry (which is a true story written about domestic abuse) Too Scared To Live & Preaching From A Chair are superbly written. There are so many good songs on here such as the live favourite River Of Pain, Ball & Chain, Stand Up, I'll Be Waiting, & Castles In The Sand. The only weakness on this album for me is Fly On The Wall which sounds ... Read More:

This is the architypal UFO album where the best line up ever found their true sound. I hate the term "heavy Metal" and don't consider UFO to be anything other than a quality rock band. This album has everything, powerful guitars and rasping solo's like the classic "Lights Out",a beautiful ballad in "Try Me" , melody, orchestral arrangements and the classic "Love to Love". UFO discovered here that they could use keyboards and keep it heavy. All eight songs are great with plenty of variety to make it a real good listen even thirty years on.

What a great album this is from Saxon, this is heavy and really is what the band are all about, quality metal, great songs and riffs.I have followed this awesome bands career over the years and they have got stronger and stronger as the years have gone on and truly become metal giants that can still show the youngsters how to do it.Dont expect to hear 70s style Saxon here these days are over expect to hear a much heavier sound that the band have perfected and is what they are all about now.Along with this great album I would highly recommend these other great works by the band in no particular order;Unleash The Beast,Dogs Of War,The Inner Sanctum and Killing Ground all excellent works that if you enjoy Lionheart you will easilly enjoy these other great albums,of course you ...
