agree with pikie1977 but this is album is one of their best because of that experimentation and diversity it should also be noted that guns n roses ripped of part of the guitar solo from patience of sunshine and that the intro to shanghai'd in shanghai sounds a lot like David Lee Roths yankee rose, actually guns n roses are what nazareth would have sounded like if they had came from America ;-)

It is often said that sequels can never match the originals. And they are right, sequels don't measure up - in their minds -, in their little world where there is no such things as KISS sequels are usually rubbish. But for the rest of us it is different, for those who have this album understand that what happened before can always be done just as well if not better. Which of the first two Alive albums was better is quite frankly irrelevant. Both are such pioneering live albums and such brilliant records that all rock fans should own both.
Recorded in 1977 in LA, Alive II is blood and guts rock and roll from start to finish. The main standouts are Detroit Rock City, the ever brilliant Love Gun, Calling Dr Love, Shock Me, I Want ... Read More:

This is by far the best album Def Leppard have released - only it isn't an album; it's a collection of B sides and nearlys. Some great non-traditional Def Leppard tracks like Desert Song and Fractured Love as well as some good old rock tracks like Ride into the Sun and Ring of Fire. There's also a storming cover of an old sweet song - Action - and was released as a single. Ballads are not missing, buut don't be surprised to hear Miss You in a Heartbeat no less than three times on the album! I can't wait till the next B-side collection!

Like all Black Sabbath and Uriah Heep remasters released by Castle between 1996 and 1998, this 1983 masterpiece featured a sticker on the front which stated "faithfully restored artwork". Unfortunately, the cover artwork on these releases was in most cases very badly reproduced, with grainy printing and wrong colors. In "Born Again", the purpleish background was printed as a far lighter shade of blue, completely different to the original LP artwork. I've always considered the cover artwork as much a part of an album as its musical content, so I can only rate this release as an unacceptable insult to the band and their fans.

This album sees BOC return to the hard riffing of their earlier albums with a vengeance & they would shortly embark on a tour with a Dio fronted Black Sabbath that further reinforced their heavy rock credentials. The Satanic venom of "Divine Wind" & synth rock of Satan inspired "Fallen Idol",shouldn't fool you into thinking this album is for Devil worshippers, far from it.As usual BOC demonstrate their customary humour on "Monsters" & "Lips In the Hills", as well as teaming up with sci-fi/fantasy author Michael Moorcock for the blistering "Black Blade",which some Cult fans find a bit stodgy, but if you're a fan of Moorcock's Elric novels-like me- you'll relish this track especially on Stormbringer's synthed-out refrain "My Master is my slave.."which ... I really love this, it's a pressie for valentine's day, but I'm quite keen to keep it!
Although it has mixed reviews in terms of packaging I like it. What you get it basically a patterned grey/black box. The lid lifts up on the top to reveal the spines of 5 CD cases and a CD shaped booklet. Each CD case contains 2 CDs and the track listings etc.

If you love Ozzy then you'll love this album. In our eyes he can do no wrong, from the days in Sabbath he has stood the test of time. Ozzy just rocks and this album is no exception. Buy It you won't be sorry.
Release Date November 29, 1999
Surely the most underated album from the classic cooper line up.This a wonderfully varied album and not given the recognition it deserves because it is permanently overshadowed by the massive success of Billion Dollar Babies and the subsequent fuss surrounding the unpleasant break up of the band.
The concept is not as prominent as previous albums but the songs are just as strong and entertaining and basically THIS ALBUM ROCKS AND DESERVES A CHANCE.If you're new to alice have no fears about this album it stands comfortably alongside the other cooper classics.

A great album by Sabbath. Very underrated by Sabbath fans it takes a few listen to fully get into it. The standout track for me is Master Of Insanity the first time i heard it i instantly loved it. My other fave tracks are Computer Gods, After All(The Dead), Tv Crimes, Time Machine & I. This is a great album Dio's voice excellent as usual, Iommis guitar playing awesome, lyrics are amazing. If you're thinking about buying this do it's a great album.

I'm too young to appreciate what Def Leppard used to be like but I'm old enough to know what constitutes a good album. The only other Def Leppard albums I own are Vault and Best Of, which are effectively the same album. With this in mind, X is the only proper studio album I own by Def Leppard so I can't compare it to their previous albums. But I can compare it to the hundreds of other albums in my collection and I will simply say that this album is excellent.
It's very inoffensive radio-friendly rock which might not be very edgy but prevails with some truly fantastic sing-along choruses. The vocals are particularly strong and having heard some of Def Leppard's older tracks on my compilations I think his voice has improved. My favourite track on the album has to be "Long ...
