Thin Lizzy has always been big because they are one of the most famous rock bands and the fact that they are Irish and that type of hype never appeals to me it's happend to bands like U2 & Snow Patrol, and they arn't as good as everyone says they are. But Thin Lizzy are a great irish rock n roll band. Made famour by their songs The Boys are back in town & Whiskey In The Jar, they are more then just those 2 awesome songs. I now own all of Maidens albums. Over the last few weeks i have listened to them all, and this one has to be their best. I really love that raw early sound which they had but appeared to lose once bruce took over. dont get me wrong, bruce did a fantastic job and i really think the number of the beast is his best record with the band. but there is something very special about the sound the band had on the first two albums. something that has never been repeated. When the band released 'no prayer for the dying' in 1990 they were trying to recapture that sound they had around the time of killers. they never recaptured that great sound. After hearing, "Loved Walked In" for the first time two weeks ago, I had to find out more about this band so I bought this greatest hits album next day, what can I say, it's amazing!!!
Some really great songs and an album that's encouraged me to order more of their CDs.

This album is flawless, Led Zeppelin jamming though their greatest hits live. The most striking thing is the sound quality, it's clear and crisp and absolutely punchy! Led don't stop on this album, at all, each song sounds slightly improvised and jammed. The rock highlights, like Immigrant Song, kick you right in the ears and the slower numbers, like Thats The Way, pull at your heart, they're very emotional and heartfelt.

All in all, this album is like having a private Led Zeppelin concert in your room, and common, who wouldnt want that?

Nazareth like ther bands before Uriah Heep etc only found themselves the butt of many jokes by the UK press over so many comparisons with other legendary acts before they hit the scene but where warmly appreciated in the US and rest of Europe but this decent best of highlights the emotive tones in Dan McCafferty alcohol nicotened soaked vocals which swings from the rawk to the sensitive as highlighted on bad bad boy and love hurts combined with the effortless guitarsmanship from Jimmy Murrison, steady basslines from Pete Agnew and the effective drumming from the late sweet keeps the band in check which is no surprise they had celebrity fans in Axl Rose who covered hair of the dog for the patchy spaghetti incident album.

Yes they can. This album is amazing starting the album off with nickos awesome drum intro then going into an awesome song which is Where Eagles Dare, awesome great chorus and solos and riffs and of course vocals. Revelations is an amazing song a bit slower but still got those riffs and an awesome solo again i dont need to mention the vocals again. Flight Of The Icarus why do some maiden fans have a problem with this i love it great song and chorus and solo, Die With Your Boots is another classic. Then the obvious classic on this album The Trooper a rocking track brilliant solos and lyrics and an awesome riff it has classic written all over it. Sandwiched between the fifties-influenced and bluesy "In Rock" and the "heavy rock" classic "Machine Head", "Fireball" is most people's third choice in the magnificent early 70s triptych from Deep Purple. Granted there are not the anthems like "Highway Star", "Child In Time", "Smoke On The Water" or "Speed King" on this collection, but there's still some great hard rock in tracks like "The Mule", the title track, the extended blues rock workouts of "Fools" and "No One Came" and the iconic single "Strange Kind Of Woman". This has got to be one of THE all-time greatest live albums...from start to finish it doesn't let up in its barrage of awesome songs and Bruce Dickinson playing the crowd like never before...add to it that immortal line, and you've got yourself Maiden at their very best, which is saying something! (As an aside, my title comes from the fact that Bruce is a registered pilot...how cool would it be to hear that if you were flying!)
