This is a fine collection of songs from the most underated band in the world. adored by their die hard fans for being true originals The Stranglers prowl outside the charts and tour with a live act few could match for raw energy and belting musicianship. At this price you should buy this CD. You may not like it, on the other hand you're more than likely be bumping into me at their next concert 'cos you like it so much!

My only criticism of this majestic piece of work is that it hasn't got the original cheap red sleeve that I remember so well! What a great record, I bought it because my dreadful 70's quality tape of the vinyl was giving up the ghost. Doesn't seem quite right having it on CD as it really is a classis vinyl album. Raw, energetic, fresh, vital and totally exhillirating.Sounds like the later buzzcocks before production got a look in. On the scale of arty vs (allegedly)working class this flies the black flag for arty. Intelligent, witty, it sums up for me my punk schooldays in the 70's and the changeover from flares to drainpipes. Any Crass release is always worth a buy, and when anyone gives a Crass release 4 stars, what they've doing it is giving it one star less than their favourite album (in my case "Yes Sir, I Will" - not a musical outing, but after reading the lyrics, it's life changing at the very least). This is no exception.

A good cross-section of their releases from "Feeding of the 5,000" through to the aforementioned great album it has all the usual rants and raves in a fairly-not-too-bad/could-be-worse sound quality (it beats "Stations of the Crass anyway!). Crass are never the same live, sadly I've never seen them live (they broke up before my birth), but I've seen "Christ: the Movie" and heard some accounts of their shows from people ... Read More:

Good buy for enthusiast/collector as it contains the spedding demos and mike thorne demos in uncut glory (for a change). A Thorne demo appears at the end of each CD (not mentioned on sleeve). Proof the band could play, hairs on back of my neck stand when I listen to the power and (this will upset the Sid Vicious type angry sex pistols fan) funky-ness of the early Pistols. The rejected Thomas "Anarchy" is a joy - better guitar solo's in my opinion. Shame Steve Jones' "Audition" comment is tagged on to the wrong "Pretty Vacant".

Filthy Lucre Live

A lifelong fan of the Sex Pistols and their no-nonsense attitude toward all that they surveyed, I relished the chance to actually attend the gig this CD was recorded from. 12 hours of a summer's day spent in Finsbury Park watching punk bands, some old and some new, topped off by the boys (by that time 40+) doing what they did best. And yes, it was a pay day they wanted - just look at the tour name if you have any doubts!

Live CDs can't always capture the electric atmosphere of actually being there to see the show, but this one does a very good job! Some of the memories of the show may fade, but those down on CD can stay with you. It's Alive

If you're only going to buy one Ramones album then buy this one. This is possibly the best live album by any band ever. A whole gig on one cd with the lads doing what they do best - loud, fast rock 'n' roll as only they can play it. From the opener of Rockaway Beach to the last track, We're A Happy Family, they only slacken the pace slightly for Here Today, Gone Tomorrow. Even after thirty years the pure energy and andrenaline of a Ramones gig still leaves you astonished.
