I am listening to this CD as I write this & I promise you it is absolute 100% quality, all the way through. These early recordings are an absolute treat. Stevie Wonder is not & never has been one of my very favourite artists but despite that,I still enjoy his music & I could not recommend this album more highly - the genius of the man is evident on this set of recordings. Wonderful in every way & a steal at the price - quality like this should surely cost more ? Go mad & treat yourself !

I have always loved this album ever since I first purchased it in the late 70's( it was released in 1973.)The extra tracks on this new package just add to the brilliance of the album. Although Marvin's voice is stronger than Ms. Ross's, it still works and sounds great. The outstanding tracks are - Stop,Look,Listen, You are Everything, My Mistake was to Love You and Love Twins.Although all the tracks are great a great album to do the housework to.

When Hip-O Select announced the latest installment of its Lost & Found series, Diana Ross And The Supremes Let the Music Play, the play list seemed to be top heavy with alternative vocals and mixes. However, deeper digging into this release reveals some extraordinary gems. Connoisseurs of the legendary harmonies of Florence Ballard, Mary Wilson and Diana Ross will find a treasure trove here.
Unearthed from the legendary Motown vaults is (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction from the sessions intended for the Supremes A Go-Go lp. Diana bites into the Rolling Stones classic with gusto, no doubt taking some satisfaction from the fact that the Supremes knocked the Stones out of the number one spot not once, but twice in their heyday! From the same 1966 ... Read More:

I grew up with tunes like Behind the Groove and Portuguese Love so this album took me back to my childhood. There were also tunes on the album that I'd never heard of such as I'm a Sucker for Your Love, produced and written by the late, great Rick James and the ballad I'm Gonna Have My Cake (And Eat It Too), both of which I loved. If your really into your 80's disco funk then this album is for you. A fantastic singer, really good album.

Much has been written about the original release and I share the view that it truly is one of the great albums; transcending both time and genre.
What the reviews here fail to mention are the treasures to be found within the live recording from The Kennedy Center. Close listening to this concert reveals moments of utter beauty. The slowed moments referred to by other reviewers enhance the depth of feeling and this can be felt too in the reactions of the audience who respond rapturously to Gaye's heartfelt improvisations, backed perfectly by some wonderful playing by the supporting musicians. The recording may indeed lack the polish of the studio release but its extremes of intensity and subtlety in performance showcase a true genius at the height of his ... Seemingly all but forgotten by most people, this is actually a great collection! Diana sings really well - the production has her voice well to the fore & sounds clear & bell like at times.
The whole CD is enjoyable to listen to, with a good variety of songs all of which could be described as 'soulful', which can't be said of all MS Ross's work.
If you've ever liked her solo work you should really enjoy this album. My favourite tracks were all (I think) released as singles in the UK & all did OK.
When You Tell Me That You Love Me
One Shining Moment
If We Hold On Together
For the money an absolute bargin & essential buy for any Diana Ross fans.

You really can't fault the selection of tracks here (with the possible exception of the Ritchie Family, which made me laugh out loud on hearing it for the first time here). Classics all, and not always the obvious ones.
But as someone who loved every second of these tracks when I first bought them on 7-inch vinyl, it was incredibly frustrating to find that the tracks overlap very slightly, so you lose those ecatatic moments at the start and finish of many of them.
The cue points at the start of each track are sloppy too, so you catch the end of the previous one even if you wanted to skip it.
And in order to squeeze 44 titles on, several tracks are faded out early.
If you're just a casual listener/dancer, you could ... Read More:

Gladys Knight and the Pips made some records before they signed to Motown, but those records were not successful, so these are the earliest important recordings.
I heard it through the grapevine was their first major hit, going to number two in the American pop chart (and topping the R+B chart) and also giving them a minor British hit. Gladys recorded the song at around the same time as Marvin Gaye, but Motown originally selected the version by Gladys and the Pips for single release. Marvin’s version was released as a single a year later and topped the charts on both sides of the Atlantic. The two versions are very different despite both being produced by Norman Whitfield. He obviously loved the song as he also produced versions by the Isley brothers and ... Read More:

For those of you who prefer Diana's music from the beginning of the seventies onwards this is one of the best compilations around. Although Motown have now put out Diana Ross and The Supremes 40 Greatest, it confuses the buyer as we tend to think it's just that, Diana with The Supreme's. The truth is the latter half of it is Diana at her best in the early 70's. This compilation feature's hits from the 70's leading into the 80's and show's a number of sides to Diana's music. The ballads and blues are covered by the sublime "Endless Love" and "Goodmorning Heartache", "Touch Me In The Morning", and "Theme From Mahogany". But what comes out great in this album for me is the "funky" side to Diana. The brilliant "My Old Piano", hear the piano and guitar playing off each other.....followed ... Read More:
