I've followed Keith Sweat from his first live gig at the Hammersmith Apollo in '87 right through to this album & he never fails to produce the goods. His first album - Make it last forever is a MUST for any soul / R&B fan and if you like that then you'll buy every other album that followed it! This album has many of his all-time greats but in my opinion leaves a few off too. But what can you do? Ther are so many quality Keith Sweat tracks - You can't put them all on. I'm glad to see so many of his first album are on this (6 out of 8!) and also superb tracks like "nobody", "get up on it" and "twisted"! Overall a must buy even if you have (like me) every album he has released anyway. Keith Sweat... Keep it comin' baby!

In spite of her appearance on Ready Steady Go there was no sign of Kim Weston on the U K pop charts-closest was the duet with Marvin Gaye.
A little more love and Take me in your arms (Rock me for a little while) were songs which could have hit if Gladys Knight had made them.
Nowadays collectors will assume that the artist was a U K hitmaker but the fact is she wasn't but her song Helpless became a hit in the 80s for Tracey Ullman

I was lucky enough to see ES live twice in my lifetime. Once at a scooter rally in the 80s, and once, a year or so before his untimely parting from us, in Peterborough.

I saw him perform at the Cresset Centre in Peterborough along with Freda Payne and Martha Reeves on the "dancing in the street" tour. No disrespect to Freda or Martha (they were brilliant), but it was Edwin's show. It was an all-seater venue, but as soon as we'd heard the first few bars of "stop her on sight" there wasn't a flat seat in the house!

Right, a short review for a short EP. The Dance is my favorite song by Within Temptation, might be one of my favorite songs ever... The cover is beautiful, thanks to Sharon Den Adel. Great EP to dance to.

This elegant and innovative album took the clubs and the charts by storm in 1978 at the height of the disco boom. Of course the two hit singles Le Freak and I Want Your Love are the most immediately appealing tracks, both as pop and as dance music. My other favorites include Savoir Faire with its jazzy arrangement and the soulful At Last I Am Free. C'est Chic perfectly encapsulates the mood of an era. Together with Grace Jones' Portfolio, Donna Summer's Bad Girls, Boney M's Love for Sale and the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack, it is one of the best disco albums of all time. The Chic movement included Norma Jean Wright and Sister Sledge, both worth your time if you like classy dance music.

It's as if Lionel was finding his feet as a solo artist and perhaps should have waited artistically instead of releasing this as it stood. I found this slow and dull with nothing to lift the spirits really. Better was to come though.
