The Wiz [Us Import] i have had this double cd for a while now, well a few years in fact and i have forgotten how good the music is, we know it was not a big hit but diana and the gang did good in my book, i think it was made long befor its time and it still stands the test of time' we all know diana was a little old to play dorothy but who cares, its still great stuff. the songs are all up-lifting and great foot stomping tracks, from Ease On Down The Road, Dont You Bring Me No Bad News, and Mean Old Lion is just so good, great song, A Brand New Day, so good, then you get the best song of all in my book Home' this is such a warm song and you can feel diana give this song all she can and boy it works. so if you have this and dont play it give ... From the middle 1970s through the next decade, Billy Ocean was a regular vistor to the charts on both sides of the Atlantic with his special brand of soulful pop. The melodic appeal of songs like Get Outta My Dreams, Caribbean Queen and Loverboy is still there and tracks like When The Going Gets Tough, Colour Of Love and There'll Be Sad Songs sound even better these days when the charts are filled with bland pop and boring rap. There's just one unforgivable omission here, the great song Red Light Spells Danger that was a huge hit for Ocean in the mid seventies. No collection could be considered complete without that masterpiece.

You can listen to this album anywhere you like. In the car, at home with a loved one, over dinner with friends or in a cafe/restaurant and the feeling is always the same. Washed over with good feelings and ambience second to none. The songs never date and you find yourself either singing along to them or tapping the wheel or nodding your head. You even think, "Didn't know he recorded this one!!" during one or two of them.
A great album featuring an underestimated and under exposed artiste.

As the follow up to their excellent debut album 'Too Hot To Handle', 'Central Heating' had a lot to live up to. In short...IT DID. In fact, this album is every bit as essential to soul lovers as their first record. Opener 'Put The Word Out' builds slowly rather like 'Boogie Nights' but, though funky, is a little more complex a track and not quite as commercial. In contrast, 'Send Out For Sunshine' is pure summer radio and would undoubtedly have been a smash if it had been chosen as a single. The title track is more in the vein of the opener and is gritty funk before you get to Johnnie Wilders dreamy summer song 'Happiness Togetherness' which was doubled as an A side with the equally sublime 'Mind Blowing Decisions'.
