This album certainly deserves a place in any soul lovers music collection. Such a distinctive voice and classic tracks, some of my all time favorites.
This album takes me back to the mid 80's when I was a teenager and saw Stephanie Mills on the programme 'Live at the Apollo' singing 'Love like this' and 'I feel Good'. I had the album, but soon realised I was left with only the cover (someone else took a liking to my LP).
I'm so glad to get this album that is now on CD. You should also check-out Melissa Morgan, Melba Moore and Roberta Flack. Enjoy!!!!!!!

Luther Vandross was born to sing! By the time his debut album hit the streets, Mr Vandross was already one of the most sought-after singers in the business. "Never Too Much" is an entertaining soulful album that showcased real music before synthesizers and drum machines were the norm.
Luther also established himself as an accomplished songwriter, producer and arranger. To prove this point, some two years after releasing his debut, Luther was collaborating with his musical idols: Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick and Diana Ross - not bad at all!
The album kicks off with the title track which is a bright and breezy up-tempo number. It has the kind of catchy chorus that you find yourself singing along to. Musically, it ... Read More:

Though compiler Harry Weinger has attempted to chart a narrative out of what are virtually-unrelated sessions cut over a period of more than two years, this Deluxe Edition of Let's Get it On delivers some exquisite music.
The 24-bit remastering of the original album brings out previously-unnoticed details of the mixes, especially vocal parts (Marvin's harmonic layering skills had evolved even from What's Going On.) The demos, alternate mixes and alternate vocals from the album sessions are surprisingly fresh: "Come Get to This" lacks the heavy kick drum of the released version, which puts the emphasis on the upbeat, giving the track a classic Motown feel; "You Sure Love to Ball" reveals much more of the sultry female ... Clearly, this album is not a surprise to anyone who wants to buy it. It has all the Supremes songs you would expect to find, and if you like the Supremes you already know what you are buying. Clearly, there is no new material on this cd! I rarely listen to this one, as it definitely fits a certain mood. But, when I am with my whole family I often put it in because almost everyone can sing along and the songs are still enjoyable. There are a few "Supremes Songs" (post Diana) at the end of the CD which makes for an interesting twist. If you like the Supremes it is highly unlikely that you won't find this cd enjoyable.

This 2006 HIP-O SELECT CD remaster replicates exactly in card form the album "1990" by The Temptations originally issued December 1973 in the USA on Tamla Motown's Gordy 966 (Tamla Motown STMA 016 in the UK).
All 7 tracks (37:36 minutes) were written and produced by NORMAN WHITFIELD and are in the same vein as the "Masterpiece" and "All Directions" albums that preceded it featuring songs similar to "Papa Was A Rolling Stone" and "Law Of The Land" - great funky soul meets emerging social conscience. Personally it's a period of The Temptations catalogue that I dig so much more than the Sixties stuff.
The attention to detail in the repro of the US album cover is superb. The hard card sleeve itself is slightly oversized giving ... Read More:

I've had the cassette version of this since I was a little girl (many years ago) and I still listen to it and love it as much now as I did then. I am so pleased to have found this on CD especially as my old stereo with cassette is about to die.
George has a great voice, easy to listen to tracks and timeless tunes which get you singing along in no time. I would say that this is the best of anything he has done.
There are a couple of other songs that I like, well knows ones that would be great on here too, but I'd chose this over any other of his albums.

The Classic Collection is a brilliant compilation of classical pieces that have featured in films. They are very varied, but all atmospheric and, whether you have seen the films that have used them or not, they seem to transport you another place, where you can enjoy the music and images it creates for you. It's a great starting point for new listeners to classical music - in fact everyone who hears this CD always wants their own copy!

The Isleys period that most appeals to me is the mid-1970's,specifically the albums Harvest For The World and 3+3. Although I would ordinarily buy the individual albums I used to own this one and always found it sufficient to my needs as it contains classic tracks from both albums; That Lady, Summer Breeze, Harvest For The World and more.Perhaps after a few more listens I might be persuaded to shell out somewhere between £10 - £15 to buy the original albums on cd, but I have to say at under 2 quid, including postage, this is an absolute bargain and one I could not resist.
If you're interested in the Isleys before or after this period then this cd isn't going to do it for you and there are several others available that showcase their careers ... Read More:
