Just when I thought a nostalgic Christmas was over I came across this super 2 CD set from NotNow. The set boasts 50 songs and a whole host of well known stars too. It is good to have a mix of both American and British stars represented and there are even duets.
This is a welcome addition to the Christmas titles offering something just a little different and with Eartha Kitt, David Whitfield, Dickie Valentine, Bing, Dick, Frank, Perry, Nat, Ella, Peggy and Judy to serenade you whilst you cook that traditional roast turkey what more could you ask for?
Favourite songs for me are "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"; "Silver Bells"; "Santa Claus got Stuck in My Chimney" and the traditional carols.

If not the best Christmas album out there ..... and beleive me I should know, I've bought pleanty over the years, I say if your looking for a all round, something for everyone Christmas Album get this one I'll be suprised if your disapointed

I thought this CD had got lost in our recent house move and was delighted when it turned up in one the last boxes to be opened. I immediately rushed to listen again even though it is early March and am once again entranced by the warmth and beauty of the music and the singing. You really can play this CD anytime in the year and that is what I am doing now! If you buy it you will not be disappointed!

Yep! this release was always going to stir up the old argument about tampering with Elvis' music simply to try and score an immediate hit at the most appropriate time for buyers to part with their cash, I:E Christmas!

Well having been a lifelong Elvis fan, I suppose I would swing to the "purist" side of the debate, arguing that Elvis' music needs no crutch to appeal to anyone, it simply does or doesn't, depending on whether you like it or not, that said I can also understand the need to keep any artist in the public eye and if this is deemed the way to do that then it's the choice of the record company to release it and for the public to vote with their money(or not), so on that, my review,

I've always loved Christmas songs, and Connie's album is probably the best collection of Christmas songs I've ever heard. Her sweet and pure voice gives something special to every song. It's soft, dreamy, festive, jazzy... This is an album that you will love to listen to on a cold winter night, by the fire, comfortably settled on your sofa. :) Two thumbs up for you Connie!

This is my favourite Christmas CD, it has something for everyone! It's the perfect antidote for the tired old tunes that everyone plays at Christmas (if I hear "I wish it could be Christmas every day" one more time I won't be responsible for my actions), the highlights being "Zat you Santa Claus?" by Louis Armstrong and "Silent Night" by Dinah Washington.
Give it a go and you won't be disappointed, especially at this price!!
