Without a doubt this is the greatest Live Rock band ever. Alex and the boys kept me sane during my teenage years in Glasgow.
This recording shows them at their peak. It's a pity we have had to wait 28 years for it to be released. However this is one band that's music cannot be classified or shoved into a time frame. Listening to it now, it could have been recorded just last night.
Missing from the track listing above is 'The Boston Tea Party', which is sandwiched between 'Vambo' and 'Dance to your Daddy'.
'Framed', which along with 'Faith Healer' were SAHB anthems, has on this recording got Alex playing Hitler. If you are offended then you havn't heard it.
Alex was Sensational and the band still are.

This is a mixture of music recorded live and(mostly)in the studio in New York in 1967.The MOI are now in their prime,and the range of styles they play is amazing-remember though,as FZ points out,"This is basically an instrumental album".
Highlights?"King Kong"in all it's majesty,the weird,almost chamber music sound of "Dog Breath Variations",the wonderfully silly vocals of "The Air",Suzy Creamcheese pointing out the risks of the rock lifestyle when it comes to groupies-"We had fleas and lots of crabs,and proceeded to give them to everyone in Laurel Canyon"-,FZ playing aoucustic guitar(a rarity indeed)Ian Underwood whipping it out in Copenhagen,there's something for all the family in this album.

Released after the separation of the Mothers of Invention, Weasels Ripped My Flesh acts as a sort of sequel (or "phase two) of Burnt Weeny Sandwich. And whilst Burnt Weeny Sandwich has more of a rigid, planned feel to its songs, Weasels captures the groups hectic live performances and their avant-garde free-jazz improvisation.

The album starts off with "Didja Get Any Onya?", a live track which, at first, may sound to you like a bunch of aimless, unnecessary instrumental masturbation ("jamming," I believe it's call) until after a few listens you begin to detect the bizarre song structure. Glorious and Dressed to Kill

There is nothing funnier than Eddie. Period. And excluding his films, of all his works Dressed to Kill and Glorious are probably the best and are therefore great to have as a boxed set. There's a wide range of topics in Dressed to Kill, ranging from the Church of England to Scooby Doo (which he eventually compares to James Joyce and Shakespeare of all things). Glorious is also fabulous, my favorite set being Six Million Dollar Queen, where he talks sensitively about Britain's Queen Mother and her bionic eye. I also have Unrepeatable/Definite Article which are both extremely worth it as well. Seriously, been a fan of Dane Cook for a while now, and this is easily his best material, blows my mind how he can make 2hours of material for 2 seperate cds just a year after he launched Harmful if Swallowed, which is also recommended

for any stand up comedy fans out there with a penchant for crazy comedians, with a mixture of intelligence, in which he conveys in a pretty covert way, then this guy is for you. highly recommended!

and any existing Dane fans out there, if you havent got it, buy it!

Already a fan of the hilarious Kathy Griffin I bought this cd a little concerned that it wouldn't be as funny listening rather than on a DVD. I got a big surprise, it was better!

The release of the cd has been Kathy's attempt to grab a Grammy award (following her well-deserved Emmy win) after learning that she could get one through the spoken word category, she deserves it! For those that love celebrity gossip along with fantastic one liners and general comedy then I would highly recommend purchasing this cd. It's a good idea to do some research on Kathy Griffin herself though and about Barbara Walters and a few others mentioned on the cd as you may have no idea what she's on about otherwise.
