This is a great album showing Bill at his funniest and probably one of the best places to start, along with Relentless. It's not as caustic as Rant in E-Minor and was recorded early in his career, but is a great album regardless. I love it that he can make you laugh and open your eyes wide to the irony in life at the same time. His political jokes are sharp and witty and his life observations are not only true, but hilarious. The drugs jokes are hilarious, especially when he mentions being so wasted he dances to the police car lights!!! Not necessarily one to share with your mum, but one to share with all your friends, family and colleagues and as many people as possible!!! Simply brilliant.

This album was produced by one of the most unique bands out there, and it is a true masterpiece. The lyrics don't ever really mean anything, it's just a whole lot of fun listening to songs about peaches, kitties and an old man. The genius behind the band is Chris Ballew and even though he and his colleague have 5 strings between their 2 guitars (a bassguit and a guitbass, apparently) the sound is immense. And do not overlook the vocals either, Ballew has an incredible voice and his backup fits perfectly.
And to top it all off, the most rockin' song EVER is on this CD, "Kick out the Jams". If you are ever feeling a bit down, just put this on at full blast and you cannot help but feel a sense of total joy.

A warning, apart from "Dizzy" (which is one of my favourite songs ever), do not get this for the music quality. It is simply a comedy album, with many funny tracks, and an equally funny title. I remember punk rock is great, along with the mocking "Born Free" and a rather interesting arrangement of Abide with me. Good if you have an old style British sense of humour.

Admittedly, not all the tracks are equally hillarious, but it's the same with MP's (Monthy Python's) TV series and films... This album works as an album;
the track with Palin's "Bishop" doing a dumb radio commercial is brilliant, John Cleese is usually wonderfull as a rabid advertiser and the song... Well, let me tell you there are some quit funny, zany (and sometimes not quite politically correct, God bless them!) songs here -
"I like Chinese", "Never be rude to an Arab", "Medical Love Song", "Finland", "I'm so worried"...

If you like the Presidents then this album won't disappoint. If you're looking for them to have shown some evidence of having moved forward then this isn't the album for you.

i recall watching a few of bill hicks concerts as he became prominent in stand up circles, always finding him hilariously funny. a few years later, when i wondered what had become of him, i found out he had died of cancer, at the tender age of just 32! what this 'greatest hits' collection is absolutely a must have for anyone who thinks they know stand up. bill hicks stood and still stands head and shoulders above most, if not all others. his philosophy in various subjects was spot on and his timing, second to none. this is a case of wondering what happiness this eternally pissed off man could have brought into our miserly lives had he lived. at the end of every conclusion, no matter how absurd. you find yourself agreeing with him. a must have as every track is a laugh ... The Mollusc by Ween hits me as quite an absurd album, an odd mash of styles at points sounding rather silly and weird, the only real link between many of the songs being a recurring theme of the sea.
The album opens up with the plinky piano of 'I'm dancing in the show tonight' with all the vocals completely warped, from child's voices to a low rumble.
This them morphs into 'The Mollusc' a slower paced acoustic and synthy track of a tale of finding a mollusc in the sand ('Hey little boy, what you got there, kind sir it's a mollusc I found') a very nice relaxing track, only with the rather strange lyrics
There are also songs like 'I'll be your jonny on the spot', much more guitar based, but still with just as odd lyrics and a fantastic burbley synth solo ... Read More:
