I am a huge Zappa fan and this has to be the best album i have ever heard due to the witty tone of Zappa's voice and perhaps the best song has to be "The idiot bastard son". Anybody wanting a fantastic album go and add this to your shopping basket NOW!!!!!.

Admittedly, not all the tracks are equally hillarious, but it's the same with MP's (Monthy Python's) TV series and films... This album works as an album;
the track with Palin's "Bishop" doing a dumb radio commercial is brilliant, John Cleese is usually wonderfull as a rabid advertiser and the song... Well, let me tell you there are some quit funny, zany (and sometimes not quite politically correct, God bless them!) songs here -
"I like Chinese", "Never be rude to an Arab", "Medical Love Song", "Finland", "I'm so worried"...

Lenny Bruce is not a comic for the intellectually challenged. He was quick, improvisational in nature, and at times brilliant. Listening to one of his live performances requires your undivided attention, like great jazz or classical music, to truly appreciate. If you want jokes jokes about dad making breakfast and babies being born, go listen to Cosby and Pryor, they ARE great, but when I want my gray matter tickled along with my funny bone, I go to Lenny Bruce. To those of us who do appreciate Lenny Bruce he was more than just an important and influential comedian, he was a prophet and a sage; still is. But along the way, if you have the guts, the brains, the honesty to listen, you WILL laugh, because Lenny Bruce is a very funny (if dead) man.

Speaking as someone that has suffered with bouts of depression for long periods in my life, I have to say that I wish I'd discovered the 'Bonzo's' sooner! This excellent value 2 album set, is a right hoot from start to finish and includes such an eclectic mix of musical ideas and comedy sketches that it never gets boring, even when it gets boring! HA HA HA There's a lot of fun and laughter to be had here and tracks like 'Shirt', 'Ali Baba's Camel', 'Mr Slater's Parrot' and 'Busted' are just the perfect tonic if you are feeling down. Behind the humour however, tracks like 'I Want To Be With You', demonstrate that there was a pretty nifty 'pop band'trying to get out and, on another album, the song could easily pass for a 'summer of love' classic. Originally produced at a time before the advent of not only DVD but also video recorders, `Monty Python and the Holy Grail' was issued as a record for those people who wanted to enjoy it in the comfort of their own home. Python had had previous success with a series of albums based on their television shows and like with these they recorded a series of links to give the record purchaser the reassurance they had heard some Python not heard by the people whom only saw the film.
