This re-packaging of Ivor's Albiums 'The Winker's Album' and 'More Filth, Dirt Cheap' is of paramount importance. Everyone in the world should be treated to Ivor's dulcet tones in' No, No, No's' 'Mr. Fellatio, the ice cream man' - a personal favourite of mine (I've even heard my own mother singing it and a cousin of mine has been known as Mr. Fellatio ever since the record came out). 'Pretend you're at the seaside and it's a stick of rock'.

No joke, this music is so funny!! The Stanley Holloway-ish rendition of 'The Other Educated Monkey' is sheer brilliance - especially when a human's lot is made to look dismal when compared with the 'wanking, defacation and wife-swapping' of the monkeys! Shock and Awe

Recorded in Oxford, England this CD is another gem showing Bill at his funniest. This has no new material, but shows how he adapted his act for different audiences and how the English react to his wit and humour. I love it that he can make you laugh and open your eyes wide to the irony in life at the same time. His political jokes are sharp and witty and his life observations are not only true, but hilarious. The jokes about the gulf war and George Bush are especially funny and pertinent taking into account modern developments. Sadly the 'Goat Boy' jokes go on a touch too long and wear a bit thin, but that's a minor fault. THE ORIGINAL COMEDY CLASSICS

I first heard these tunes on crackly old 78s when I was but a lad... they made me curl up with laughter then, and they still do the job nearly 40 years later. There are some classic moments of musical mayhem on this CD, including personal favourites "The Man on the Flying Trapeze" and "Laura" (though there are a few strange omissions: no "Cocktails For Two" or "I Dream Of Brownie With The Light Blue Jeans"). The audio quality is generally OK considering the tracks have been transferred from 78s, though there are a few glitches (but none of the fake studio echo reported on some other Spike Jones CDs). The second CD is a stereo recording from 1956, but has obviously been transferred from a well-worn LP, and suffers from very poor sound quality on the ... Read More:

Flying Saucer Tour Vol. 1 - the Funny Bone

This is an album of one of Hicks' sets in it's entirety and shows how he carried on in the face of a lack lustre audience and with heckling. It isn't necessarily the best place to start if you're new to Hicks. I'd say it's more for die hard fans who want something extra. Parts of it are uncomfortable to listen to and yet it is compelling the whole way through. A worthy addition to Hicks' catalogue, but not the best example of his unique and outstanding comedy.

In reality the First album with a bit of Virgin Fugs and a few odd other bits thrown in. Always essential but a real shame that the rest of Virgin Fugs is missing, so minus a star for that. Both albums plus the extras in the one CD set would have been a better idea.

I Will Cure You

A warning, apart from "Dizzy" (which is one of my favourite songs ever), do not get this for the music quality. It is simply a comedy album, with many funny tracks, and an equally funny title. I remember punk rock is great, along with the mocking "Born Free" and a rather interesting arrangement of Abide with me. Good if you have an old style British sense of humour.

Mr. Hankey The Christmas Poo CD1

It's a funny, feel-good song, and if you like the show South Park you'll probably like this song too. It's got all the essentials of a novelty record - a memorable, catchy, if perhaps annoying chorus, which is part of a song fronted by some of TV's favourite characters. Everyone should own a novelty record somewhere in their collection, for nostalgic reasons if for nothing else, and "Mr Hankey the Christmas Poo" is no worse than any other!
