I got into Morris' work quite late on, and watching stuff from the early 90's seems to make modern attempts at comedy to shame.
The audio quality, the choice of music, the surreal sketches. It all feels so fresh and cutting edge to me even today. A fundamentalist approach to British humour that is now seemingly dying out due to the rise of the PC brigade.
I fully expect people to not "get it". Just as Gervais gets death-threats from people that have no grasp what-so-ever of irony and satire. Or the people who think the appeal of South Park is kids swearing.. I roll my eyes one full rotation at the likes of all of you.

cant help but agree with previous reviews an excellent feel good album, music amusing but seriously accomplished at the same time, well worth a listen and you will want to listen again, what more do you want? how many albums do u listen to more than twice? had this for years but it still is a favourite along wi the flaming lips and alex harvey.

This is a great stand-up performance from a very funny man.The jokes come out like bullets from a machine-gun and he can be delightfuly outrageous. My favourite part is when he takes live questions from his audience, check out his ripostes and razor-sharp wit. I can recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good laugh, you won't be disappointed.

Steve Vai, erstwhile student of Joe Satriani, was looking for his break and decided to plug himself to Zappa by sending him a transcription of one of Zappa's guitar solos.
Zappa was impressed and called young Vai to the studio. As it says above, Zappa entrusted the new guitarist with nothing so mundane as transcribing further solos, but instead, transcribing Zappa's improvised vocal "melodies" (Dangerous Kitchen & Party Hats). Thus the guitaring on these tracks. Not only did Vai transcribe them, he played them, too.
Technical ability above and beyond... Just what Zappa liked from his musicians.
There is some good music on this album, but, as hinted at, this is not an accessible album.

First of all this isn't a best of, it's a reworking of former glories. Secondly this isn't the Dread Zeppelin I heard on Un-Led-Ed and 5,000,000. Gone is the attack and the humour and most of Tortelvis (who doesn't really sound like Elvis at all on this album). Dread Zeppelin were a great band but they sound jaded on this almost Techno Pop offering. Disappointing.

As if his vast collection of films isn't enough for Sellers fans to gorge on, this workaholic performer left us a fair bit in radio work as well. While his Goons stuff is of course great, I have always preferred him as an artist on his own standing, and here in this memorable collection of radio sketches without the Goons is proof of his timeless comic genius. Many of these sketches are certifiable classics, such as the two Beatles covers played in character - one from that in a recent film of his, 'Dr. Strangelove' and one taking off Olivier as Richard III, and both are hilarious. Also well known are his two songs with Sophia Loren, and there are some lesser known but very funny sketches satrising character types and situations of the day. My favourite though, ... Read More:
