If you are ever feeling gloomy or down I strongly you listen to Bob Newhart. He seems to have the ability to make me laugh so much that it becomes a physical pain. I cry with laughter everytime I hear his material. I only wish he was still doing this kind of work which I consider to be his finest. A true giant of comedy with a new way of delivery that should be studied by every up and coming comidien. No profinaty no inuendio just pure comin genius.

Geraldine, I want to thank you for becoming my inspiration - the wind beneath my wings. I thought I'd never amount to anything but when you won Pop Factor I truly began to believe that if you could live the dream then so could I ... now I can shine. The song is beautiful, your voice is like an angel - when's the album coming out?

Not as some have said, the original version of 'Sir Henry at Rawlinson End' but by far and away the most concise. It's all you really wanted to know about Henry Rawlinson in an easy to swallow, beautifully performed hour.
And I've enjoyed this hour for what must amount to weeks in repeated plays. Even now, a word or phrase can suddenly shine out as a meaning or reference becomes clear. The narrative and songs are examples of Vivian at his very best and it comes as no surprise that this album continues to enthrall listeners decades after it's first release.
It's actually a condensed version or fragment of a much bigger series of recorded works which were performed in an equally erudite and mellifluous fashion for radio. ... Read More:

The Rutles were the brain child of Monty Python Eric Idle and born out of a sketch on his Rutland weekend television show. Whilst the subsequent film (All You need Is Cash) was a patchy, and only occasionally amusing Beatles parody, the music is pretty much spot on.
Songwriter Neil Innes was obviously a big big Fabs fan and his attention to detail in these songs in quite extraordinary. He also 'does' a great Lennon impression and manages to capture the Beatles sound in all it's many guises - 'Goosestep Mamma' is pure Hamburg/Cavern, 'Get Up And Go' spoofs 'Get Back' (apparently Lennon himself was very impressed) and 'Only Natural' could happily have nestled on Abbey Road. The thing about these tracks is that they do transcend mere pastiche and, whilst ... Read More:

I first listened to this in a friends bedroom on vinyl - I laughed so hard that I got him to record it onto tape for me....i then proceeded to play chosen segments of this down my CB radio to annoy all!
A great sketch that lasts a whole album....I bought this and had to wait many weeks to get a copy from the USA - i wanted it that much I did not mind the wait...if you have not heard this and you remember the young ones, then this is just for you!
Release Date February 19, 2007
Even without Eric Idle, this album doesn't suffer at all - it just underpins Neil Innes's qualities as a song-writer.
As pastiches go, it is unrivalled - in any genre. At the risk of being called a heretic, The Rutles is a far funnier entity/concept than even Spinal Tap - and Tap would agree.
Buy this and revel in both its quality and the sheer humour behind the lyrics.
