I captured this on video some twenty years ago, but, unfortunately, missed recording the first five minutes. Never mind, it has been a perennial Christmas favourite. Despite the passage of years, it still comes out each December. In fact, if it were not for this film I would probably not have retained my video player! A month ago, I left my previous job and was rewarded with a multi region DVD recorder/player. I immediately sent off for the DVD via Amazon. I can now see the whole film!!

Each year my family all hope that this film will be back on the tele so we can all curl up on the sofa and have a good happy cry. It is such a lovely happy ending story and a film that brings a cheer to the heart, especially when christmes is getting you down a bit!

I enjoyed this film, this time Carol Cartman is Scrooge and is just as evil as him.
She gets visited by the three ghost and the first ghost is her Aunt Marla telling her to buck up her ideas. The second ghost is William Shatner and the last ghost is a creepy old man in a black car.

It's amazing how a green puppet with pingpong balls as eyes can always make me cry when I see this movie. The performance of Kermit's nephew as Tiny Tim is exactly that, a performance, a great piece of acting, made by a sock, as moving as anything you could think of. Lots of today actors should learn from Tiny Tim how to act. Or from Michael Caine. This, along with Sleuth and The man who would be king is his best performance ever. And The Great Gonzo as Dickens is surprisingly accurate. Rizzo the rat is also very funny, without spoiling at all the meaning of the story.
As I haven't got the DVD I'm reviewing the video release, and I can give five stars to the film easily. It simply has the magic of Christmas inside. I'm now 31, and Christmas ... Read More:

Just a note to advise people that this Eureka release is Black And White only! The actual quality is fair without being too good. There is now a Dutch Version of this DVD which has only the Colour version, which despite a few niggles off reviewers is in my opinion amazing and totally eclipses all Black & White versions.

If I hadn't looked closely I would've missed it.. This dvd has a new Peanuts holiday tale where Rerun decides he wants a dog for Christmas. It's an entertaining enough tale I guess, but the real gem is hidden away as a bonus feature; A Charlie Brown Christmas.

This is the classic 1965 Charlie Brown animated tale that used to be repeated every year where a melancholy Charlie Brown searches for the true meaning of Christmas in the face of commercialism. Featuring the infamous score by Vince Guaraldi, who defined the sound of Charlie Brown's animated existance.

Often referenced in contemporary Christmas specials or episodes, this is a true classic that no fan of animation should miss. The real shame is that it's not been given a dvd of its own.
