This sounded like a great buy initially. My baby boy loves songs but although there are 100 of them, you can't select which one you want to listen to. It only comes in two sections and to hear a popular song, you have to plough through an irritating selection of spoken rhymes. I've given up trying to listen to it now.

I would guess that most people these days, upon seeing this album in the listings, would opine that the marketing department at EMI must be scraping the bottom of the barrel to come up with this for their "Best...In The World...Ever" series. Fans of band music will shun it for its pick-and-mix composition, and everyone else will not give it a second thought.
Unfashionable it may be, but there is nothing quite like the raw power and stirring sound of a military band playing live, unadulterated by electronics and amplification, and, while it is almost impossible to transfer this energy satisfactorily to record, to simply ignore it is to miss out on some blistering tunes and harmonies, and great music overall, and I would argue that ... As I could not wait the UK release of this album, I bought this Buddha Bar X through Amazon.fr (18 February 2008 release). I've been a big fan of the Buddha Bar series, and at every new album release I'm half excited and half anxious because I'm afraid that someday they will disappoint me. Every previous album was a delightful surprise. I don't know how they do it, but it just never fails to come up to my expectations, they keep on producing such pleasant (often CD1) and exciting (mostly CD2) music. And yes, THEY DID IT AGAIN with the Buddha Bar X!!! This music always touches the right spot of your heart, takes your mind away to a place where you feel so peaceful. I'm already thrilled how the XI will turn out... But until then, I have ten boxes ... Read More:

Real good tracks but it is kept at a reasonable pace. It doesn't quite develop, so could appear a little boring. Tight and flawless nice music, more melodic than progressive the way it used to be. The Paris GU mix is similar.
Good for summer listening, and background - versatile for everywhere.
Nothing extreme. I have the tracks separately which are excellent, but this mix does not develop - There are more epic stand out mixes... This is good but I want people to know not to expect a 5 star GU Release... yet again. Unfortunately.

After listening to this C.D at a friends house, whose son had been given it as birthday gift, i was hooked. Although it is aimed at a young audience (it comes complete with stickers), I genuinly feel that its rich range of culturally diverse music has something to offer everyone. 'Three little birds' is a well known Bob Marley song and on this albumn, his mother, who sings it, brings it to life with classic reggae charm. Along similar lines is Manu Chao's 'Bongo Bong'. A chilled, funky French tune based around the story of bongo playing monkey! This really has got to be heard. This is a C.D that consists of 12 excellent songs. Many of which are sung in the original language in which they were written. World Playground also comes with a booklet ... Read More:
