Those of you that listen to Dave Pearce on radio 1 on Sunday nights would love this album. It is all the best music from his radio show from over the years, on one album.
I pre-ordered this album and waited in anticipation and was not disappointed when I heard it for the first time. It has been played non-stop in my car and on my i-pod for 2 days solid since its arrival.
In my view, the best of the three CD's is disc 2, very closely followed by the other two, but, that is just my view.

Recived item and was well packaged, played perfectly and was thrilled with it, trips down memory lane galore. Chuffed to bits with all aspects of the transaction!

I was disappointed by the first Afterhours cd, yet somehow I have ended up owning three of the four GU releases so far, and this is the best of the lot.
Imagine: you and your pals have had a great night out, and, still on a (natural) high, you get back to your place.
Everyone's still in the mood for fun, so you stick on disc one, and soon, your guests are up and dancing. This is party music, with a good mixture of vocal tracks and (some pretty funky) instrumentals, with the set only mellowing out towards the end.
Now it's getting late, the lights have been dimmed, and your guests are either crashed out on the sofa, or sitting huddled in small groups, deep in quiet conversation. Luckily, you've put on disc two. The music on ... Read More:

You really can't fault the selection of tracks here (with the possible exception of the Ritchie Family, which made me laugh out loud on hearing it for the first time here). Classics all, and not always the obvious ones.
But as someone who loved every second of these tracks when I first bought them on 7-inch vinyl, it was incredibly frustrating to find that the tracks overlap very slightly, so you lose those ecatatic moments at the start and finish of many of them.
The cue points at the start of each track are sloppy too, so you catch the end of the previous one even if you wanted to skip it.
And in order to squeeze 44 titles on, several tracks are faded out early.
If you're just a casual listener/dancer, ... Read More:

I was not a fan of the Layo and Bushwacka mix, the Adam Freeland mix grew on me, but I applaud GU for changing direction a bit, and broadening the horizons of the average Progressive House fan.
While this CD stays into some confusing additions (eg Quando Quando), it still carries some big names like Switch, Angelo & Ingrosso, Sasha et al. and predominately bangs away at the darker-electro-almost-techno tinged house that is popular with the likes of Toolroom etc. 'Felix' has been known to play Electro for some time now (who can forget the staple 'Silver Screen' electro classic) and has included some older tunes like David Carretta's Vicious Game. So why this is another straying from the staple Progressive sets and is not a classic 5/5 album, it is ... Read More:

A superb mixture of traditional and modern. Something for everyone and great for a themed evening to be listened to whilst eating haggis and drinking whisky!
Kylie Minogue's worldwide smash hit (Can't Get You Outta My Head) starts us off, and it is the best choice for the year end Now, kicking off with dance pop! Westlife have their #1 smash (Uptown Girl) next, which, although old, is OK, as Now 44 had the likes of Britney, Steps and Shania Twain from the early part of the year, and Now 47 had the likes of the All Saints and Robbie Williams.
Next we get a bit of novelty with Bob The Builder and DJ Otzi. Pretty harmless, fun songs - but no highlights. My personal favourite on the album, is Steps' hit (Chain Reaction), which starts the way for a trio of great pop songs, followed by Five and Sophie Ellis Bextor. The likes of Blue, Wyclef, Nelly Futardo, Alien Ant Farm and City High make ... Read More:
