Can't understand all the negative comments here - I think this is probably the most consistent of the HK mix albums. World Series 1 was close but let down by the Twisted Disco set. Here, however, even that one touches the spot.
It seems that commerciality put a lot of people off and they shy away from anything which has the whiff of the charts about it - I was the same when I was a teenager! But if it's good, it's good and all three cds here are superb. The choice of tunes is spot on and the mixing second to none. The runthrough going from "Dusk Till Dawn" / "We Are Family" / "Boogie"/ "Fade" on CD1 is vintage Hed Kandi and its beyond me how anyone can disagree.
Compare this with the patchy offerings since ... Read More:

As a beginner belly dancer and having no idea of the different Egyptian and Turkish musicians, I orginally bought this CD because of its title, and I can safely say it does come pretty close to it. There is a excellent variety of music from different artists which has enabled me to pick out the ones I really love and purchase their own albums. Music ranges from slow and sultry to hip shaking, excellent for practising different techniques. Would probably have liked a few more faster songs though and all music is instumental.

This CD is incredible! I bought it when it first came out and have listened to it at least once a week ever since. No other dance compilations I have ever heard, including later Gatecrashers, are even close in comparison. Especially CD 1 !!! WOW! Buy this if you haven't already!!!

I felt compelled to write a review of this abum having owned it for more than a year. It's constantly featured on my playlists even after all this time, and with good reason. Some other reviewers are totally missing the point of the configuration of these 3 cd's. They are only intended as a celebratory snapshot of Hed Kandi's glittering past and do a dam good job of it. I admit to being a long-time kandi follower but I will be perfectly ready to slate an album if it fails my expectations. This one however, doesn't. Quite frankly, I don't care that I don't get the full versions of all the songs - its just means they get to put more top quality tunes on without wasting time on intros. A great album for a newbie or a fan who wants a collection of all of Kandi's ... Read More:

I have read most of the other reviews and think these guys who have bought this cd do not have a clue what good house music is.... to be honest i was very disappointed in this cd. All the hype and with very little listening qualities... More like a pre nightclub warm up set, dont get me wrong there one or two tracks that you can tap yr feet to but the rest.... well i thought dave pierce was bad.... sasha hopefully yr other mixes are a bit more worthy of being under the Global Underground label.

I was a real fan of CDM, since I got #10 and #11. Then it all went wrong!! I've enjoyed the back catalogue from #1 - #9 and rue du soleil but vols 12 and 13 (the double disc ones) are virtually unlistenable!! I would love to hear a disc as good as they used to do. Having read reviews of #14 I'm just not gonna buy it.

well, quite a few really, but three very good mixes in different ways, and each is noticeably more beefy than the previous disc. Sy and Unknown do a very solid selection that fairly lopes along once it hits its stride. Dougal and Gammer do a very vocal mix, and very bright and cheerful it is. Of COURSE Brisk and Ham come up with something a bit special: loads of their own tunes, plenty of V.A.G.A.B.O.N.D., very reminiscent of the brilliant Hi-Octane Collections. A bit of emotion, a bit of humour and loads of energy.
