This CD is actually surprisingly good, and it really grows on the listener - then again, it IS mixed by a fantastic DJ.

First of all, whatever the cheese-meisters beneath may tell you, CD2 vastly outweighs CD1 on this album.

The first CD focuses on the more commercial side of 2001 trance, like 'Schiller - Das Glockenspiel', 'Tenth Planet - Ghosts' and 'The Thrillseekers - Synaesthesia'. It flows quite nicely, and even has quite a hard edge in the middle, with Cosmic Gate and Norman Bass tracks. It's the stretch from 'Velvet Moods' to 'Wasteland' that makes this CD brilliant. Overall, some decent anthems, and also a lot of vocal-based tracks.

If like me you enjoyed Erlends Kings of Convenience albums but found them a touch too light and fluffy at times then this album may surprise you, because Erland is clearly in love with the 4x4 beats of techno and house. But this is no ordinary mish mash of repetitive beats. The mix spans lots of different styles from delicate electronica, and french pop to pounding techy-house and electro, but what makes the whole thing such a great listen is how much thought and effort has been put into it. Your views on this album may hinge on whether you love or hate Erlend Oye's voice as he sings on nearly every track. It should sound like a self-indulgent one-man karioke mess, but it doesn't. What a fantastic album!! You must buy this, especially if you like sexy vocal funky house!! I'm still listening to it as much now as when i first bought it nearly 3 months ago!! If you don't own this, buy it, and if you do then try the disco heaven series as well!

With the current release of Hed Kandi cds you can see the direction that the brand has taken since being bought by MOS. These compilations are no longer about the music but aimed at making money and rank up there with the NOW!!! That's What I Call Music in the cheesy stakes. Acquiring the brand was a huge coup for MOS but with the increasing commercialisation of house music it was going to be interesting as to which way the brand was to go. Unfortunately if you're a fan of house music give this a miss as you might as well just turn on the radio to hear these tunes. If you're a true fan of house music purchase something by Defected or Fierce Angels to hear the real sound of house

A great complilation of bizzarre electro, rock, pop and disco...the Soulwax 2 Many DJs compilation has long been my favourite compilation CD but this is a very very close second.

From the catchy electro pop of La Bionda's - I Wanna Be Your Lover to the truly crazy Mu - Paris Hilton this album is full of great tracks with hardly a filler in sight...

As with a good wine ageing well so this album from 1999 is tasting just great to me having stumbled across it in a sale only 9 years later! The Thievery Corporation excel in blending together so many 'world music' sounds so seamlessly over laid back trippy beats and this offering is just perfect. Its packed with so many good vibes you could confidently leave the whole 60 minutes worth on for the chillout phase of any cool party. Its perfect for any time of day really!
