Liked the first one. Loved the second one. This one is my favorite so far. It's a tasteful mix of ambient and post-club, chilled beats. There's a very pleasant sense of pacing, an ebb and flow to the whole project. Momentum builds gradually to track 14, which hits just the right melodic high point. Works in a wide variety of listening environments: reading, relaxing, post-club, and, um, think up other uses on your own. If you love downtempo ambient electronica, you'll keel over for this one.

The thing to remember here is that in 1993 'dance' music was simply music to dance to. Even though many classics such as 'Ride On Time' by Black Box and 'Pump Up the Jam' by Technotronic are on here, so are a bizarre selection of disco-y ones, such as Chakra Khan and Sister Sledge. The old skool theme is also broken away from 2 Unlimited and The Shamen by artists like Kenny Thomas and American hip hop house like Kriss Kross, while others just don't seem to fit in ('Temptation' by Heaven 17?). At the time, this sort of compilation of techno, soul, disco and house would probably have been very popular, but today it just seems a little confusing as to where this compilation is trying to go.

This was a good album, It was an excellent representation of how 1999 panned out in terms of dance music. Judge Jules does some very good mixing on this album and his choice of tracks is brilliant. 1 Minor blip is Julesy's mix from Studio 45 : Freak It into Ruff Drivers Presents Arolla : Dreaming (It sounds like the sort of thing you would hear on a Dave Pearce CD!!) All in all a fantastic addition to my collection of Ministry Of Sound Albums. Shame they arent as good as this anymore isnt it Mr Steve Caneuto? (Mixes the CD's nowadays in case anyone didnt know!)

The choice of tunes on this compilation may have been a little predictable: iio's "Rapture", Ralphie B's "Massive" etc...have been heard many times elsewhere but considering how good they are, I do not begrudge Paul Van Dyk including them.
Right, that's the "average" part of the compilation dealt with, now on to why it is the best DJ mix compilation I have heard:
As expected, this is mostly a trance style compilation. But this is different from most. PvD's own Autumn typifies the more relaxed - yet still great to dance to - trance music that PvD has preferred.
But other tunes like PvD's own remix of "Elevation" by U2 (although not as good as the other U2 remixes), and ... Read More:

The latest offering from Cafe Del Mar's Bruno is superb, it has you mentally wandering through leafy glades on warm sunny days or lazing by sparkling clear seas with the feel of sand under your feet and the ebb and flow of the tide echoing in your head. You need not be a dreamer to conjure up the sensational sunsets of Ibiza that inspire this mix of melodic genius. I have since ordered Dreams 1 and 2 and look forward to more inspirational tunes in these two albums.

After recently moving house i stumbled my old CD collection, and tunes from my single days. I simply felt compelled to write a review about this perfect CD.
I bought this CD during my last 'lads holiday' in Zante 2001. When i play this CD it takes me back to those hot nights, about 5am in the morning after 'living it large' and enjoying every minute of the best days of my life. Drifting into a relaxed state of tranquility as i play this CD in the darkness of the hot apartment, i take a deep breath in and out as i close my eyes and smile at the night's madness.
At the time the CD took great trance tunes that were hitting the clubs: Cafe Del Mar, Deadline, Seven Days and One Week, Silence, etc. and just presented a chilled ... Read More:
