Chart hits are the order of the day once again as Now reaches no. 59 with a promise of 43 top chart hits, hmm well, Intenso Project is a rather debatable choice but as the single was released after NTWICM 59 (and im in a charitable mood) i shall give it the benefit of the doubt - music can be an acquired taste sometimes.
CD1 brings us no.1 from the likes of Natasha Bedingfield, Eric Prydz with Call On Me (and no, the cd does NOT come included with the music video), Robbie Williams and (shudder) Busted and Mcfly with Thunderbirds Are Go and Obviously respectively. Ok, I don't like all the tracks but who has ever loved all the tracks on a CD? This is a great album with the right mix of tracks all relaxing in their own way. Beautiful!

You may think 'why is he writing about this now, 4 years later', well this is my favourite compilation CD ever, its got all those ones that you think 'hey, i remember that' when you hear it, all those ones that you thought would never be heard again and take you back to that party that you never recovered from. It was the end of my 1st year in high school when it came out and it is all my summer anthems from the year when lady Di was killed, and england was hot, remember! . Most of the songs on CD 1 are great, and look at the titles and you will remember all those one hit wonders (inc No mercy) and bands like 911 who are (sadly!) no longer with us, ha. There isnt much to say really apart from being a collection of mediocre tracks. Doesnt fit into my ideal collection of chilled out tracks that capture my mood and personally I found the experience entirely forgettable.

I am a huge fan of the brit pop of the late nineties and this compilation is able to catch some classics including tracks from artists like the verve and radiohead and also some real feel good classics like brimful of asha, the ballad of tom jones and the classic let me entertain you from robbie williams.
So if you want an incite back to when there was (apart from the odd crappy boy/girl band track) decent music in the pop charts which actually partially out weighed the horrendous comerciallized filth that continually pollutes our charts then give this classic compilation a go.
However it would be unfair for me not to mention the draw backs of this compilation because there are a few. These include some tracks which when i name them still make me cringe ... Read More:

This was the first Now CD that I was fortunate enough to come across and it still remains my favorite CD. Looking back and hearing the songs now is a perfect way to remember days gone by. Some of the most popular tunes are on these discs, and they are compiled perfectly. I'd have to say that these CD's are ones that can be listened to without skipping tracks.

The Mash Up Mix 2006 [Mixed By The Cut Up Boys]

Excellent Mega mix, much improved from The Mash Up Mix 2005; a great sequel to this new series. Includes many classic dance anthems and all the hits of 2006.

The Cut Up Boys really show style, experimenting with different mixing styles and there is no monotonous beat, which goes through the whole mix. From the three MOS (2005, 2006, 2007) which of the time of writing are available, this Mash Up's is my favourite. Nice acappella version versions, which I never heard of Silence (Delerium), track 10, CD2 and a great reminder of what House music is ;-) with "Do you remember House". The CD2 finishes with the top dance song of 2005: D.H.T. - listen to your heart. I could not possibly describe all songs, but some of the above are just some examples.
