There have been many Barry compilation albums over the years, so why do we need another, and is this any better than those that have gone before ?

Quite simply this is the most definitive best of album to date showcasing Barry's music. It appears wherever possible, the original recordings of his compositions are presented, and where this isn't possible Barry's excellent 60s Columbia and 90s Moviola re- recordings have been plundered instead. In fact, the only non Barry recording is surprisingly You Only Live Twice.

Tuve el "privilegio" de visionar en un gran cine de Tarragona (el ya desaparecido Oscar 1) esta obra maestra en el año 1999, con el sistema de sonido DTS.

Comentar que este film esta muy por encima de las películas estrenadas durante ese año (recordemos que fué la gran perdedora de la edición de los oscar -7 nominaciones y ninguno ganado-).

Merecía mucha, muchísima mejor suerte este film de Malick, del cual espero con muchísima espectación que edite una versión extendida del film (recordar que la duración total del film llega a las 6 horas).

Dejando a un lado el film, al que considero ya directamente UN CLASICO, la banda sonora de Hans Zimmer merece una mención aparte. Es de las mejores partituras ... Read More:

When First Blood was first released, I was doing my Graduation. "It's a Long Road..." How can anyone who has seen First Blood forget that song. It was not used in the other two films but Sly uses it again in the 5th Rambo,"JOHN RAMBO". We saw it in the Cinema. The entire pathos and feel of David Morell's Book is captured in that song. Hats off to Jerry Goldsmith for such a wonderful Creation. In India, there is a bad habit in Cinemas. They stop projection, once the main feature is over(similar to HBO) and people start flooding out. My 'guru',BG Mohammed has done an oil, right after, he saw the movie, where Rambo comes drifting into Will Teasel's territory. He came home from the Cinema, and within a week completed the Oil. This is a great straight rock album featuring some great musicians including Jim Keltner on drums, Tim Drummond on bass. John Hiatt of "Riding with the King" also contributes.

All numbers are short rocky numbers with catchy tunes. Each track is great.

"Every woman I know, Crazy 'bout an automobile, and here I am standing with nothin' but rubber heels!" stands out.

After listening to "The Girls From Texas" you may take care to get involved with sweet Texan girls. All songs have a humorous side.

Buy, you will not be disappointed.
(Note that this has little to do with Buena Vista Social Club, which is a great album about Cuban music brought about by Ry Cooder)

Even thought I havent received this yet, the music in the film was the most perfect music i've ever heard! Its weird, it used to be my favourite film when i was a little girl i was obsessed! And 15 years later i watch it again and all of those first time feelings come back. One of the most amazing-est love stories ever written by Tim Burton. The music makes the film perfect. :] Ill always love this film.

Only classical Album You'll Ever Need, vol 2

If the original 2CD `The Only Classical Album You'll Ever Need' was true to its claim, then surely there'd be no need for this volume 2 would there? Never mind, all good things deserve a sequel I guess.

This follow up 2CD release matches the original in that the budget price doesn't reflect the quality, for the soloists, orchestras, conductors and the recordings themselves ensure it is a good quality selection of mostly familiar music from the classical music repertoire.

The choices this time offer a slightly more varied repertoire than the opera-biased original, for example there are film soundtracks such as `The Mission' (Ennio Morricone), `Lord of the Rings (Howard Shore), `The Deerhunter' (Stanley Myers) and `2001 ... Read More:

Philip Glass - Another Look at Harmony (Part 4)

This 'cathedralized' version of Another Look, compared with the Early Voice recording, has had to be taken slower, running for 10 minutes longer than the previous 50 minute one. The new pace lets one appreciate what's happening musically, the detail. The recording overflows with atmosphere, and Glass's music is especially timeless, sounding like something from the middle ages, yet modern. It's probably no coincidence that when The Choir of the 21s Century and Christopher Bowers-Broadbent performed this in summer last year it was on the programme with a piece by Orlandus Lassus.

This is maybe not the most accessible piece of Glass, despite being one of my personal favourites. But if you like the Early Voice recording, this is well worth experiencing ... Read More:

Classical Chillout

This CD was given to me as a christmas present, but have only started listening to it recently. The first disc is the best with the chest burstingly beautiful "O mio babbino caro", but the second disk is heaving with relaxing hits. It really does do what it say's on the tin, the most relaxing CD on the market, the second being "Pure peace". I can only advise you to buy it now, if I am wrong you can resell it on amazon for almost it's purchase price and I am sure there will be many takers.
