An interesting mix of songs.....it's almost like this compilation of Kiri's repertoire come as two separate albums. The classics comprise the first half and the second half contains the more contemporary favorites of Kiri. You can collect some CDs of all artists and some you can be satisfied with just one. If you're looking for just one of hers, this is a great one to get.

Having bought Bowie's orignal album pretty much when it came out, and having different tastes nowadays, I picked this CD up on a whim recently.
Although beautifully played and sounding great, the music is terribly dull, I'm sad to report. As the other reviewer quite righly says, why didn't Glass orchestrate the 3 best tracks on Bowie's album?
I quite like some of Glass' other stuff, but not this. Best to pass, I think!

Basically, this album does what it says on the tin; it's a collection of short classical pieces that are soothing on the ear. So far, so common. But what I enjoyed particularly about this album was the eclectic nature of some of the pieces, particularly the inclusion of Izzy's "Going Home" and Batt's "Love in Slow Motion".
Both CDs offer a good mix of the old and well loved (e.g. Bach's "Sheep May Safely Graze"), and newer, and perhaps less familiar pieces. And I can't be the only Harry Potter fan pleased to find John Williams's score here!
All in all, I found this to be an enjoyable and well put together compilation, and I would recommend it if you are looking for a chillout CD that is slightly out of the ordinary.

As with so many films on which he has worked, if this project had had a different composer, (one that went in for the kind of rampant overproduction currently so popular), then this film would not have had half the tension it does.
Barry makes full use of his techniques for generating mystery and suspense, shifting effortlessly from a warm romantic piano theme to the literal enigma underlying the story represented by changes of key and an insistent xylophone motif.
Although not at all sassy or twangy in the way Barry's work used to be, this is proper spy music for an Eagle comic type spy adventure, and it makes you realise how empty the recent Bond films ... Read More:
